    Hey guys,

Well i noticed my ESPN2 HD wasnt working, and was showing up as if it wasnt apart of my package, well i call direct tv to fix it as it surely has to be a screw up on their part.

I surprised to find out that they chose to take ESPN2 out of our package, which is a very very important channel not only for Soccer Friendlies,MLS Games, but for Champions League Matches TOO!!!!

With that said, if your like me, and are pissed about losing this channel, COMPLETELY soon, as they took HD and soon will eliminate the whole channel Email them expressing how Pissed off you are. The guy over the phone told me, the more people they hear from, the better cause it could cause them to rethink their decision!

Here is a Link how to Email Them:

    http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIFnorail.jsp?assetId=P4960010#h:1080.976

Please express yourself as Direct TV customers, because this isnt fair to us latinos to lose this channel for god knows what reason why they would think we wouldnt want ESPN2!

This is f*cking BS!! I was wondering why my ESPN2 HD channel was grayed out but haven´t had the time to call them up about it. You must have been pissed because you couldn´t see the US-Mexico game in HD. This news is crazy! What idiot at DirecTV thought that latinos probably don´t watch soccer games at ESPN2 so why have it in the Latino Package. The US-Mexico was on ESPN2! Don´t they how many Lation Package Subscribers would have been furious if they weren´t have to watch the game? I´ve send them an e-mail. Hopefully it will do some good.

The game yesterday was also on Univision, which I'm sure most people were aware of. Also, although I don't have Direct TV, they may be giving you guys ESPN Deportes which normally carries MLS and UEFA Champions League games. So I don't think ya'll are really missing out. Other than the fact that you won't be able to watch the games on HD.

    EXACTLY!

Its a Big Reason to Me! I just bought a 1000 Dollar TV, and Upgraded already my expensive service for this HD box, and HD Compatible Dish. I DAMN WELL better be getting ESPN2 HD!

Sooner or later all games will be shown in HD.

But please guys, show Direct TV their mistake they are making, and who ever see's this thread, send emails on our behalf(hispanics that watch ESPN2) to show them how much of a mistake they are making!

Basically, ESPN and ESPN2 show the exact same shit for the most part. ESPN2 is just an extension of ESPN for showing stuff that ESPN1 (if you will) can't fit on it.

SO, this is MAJOR BS because it's like they're pulling half off ESPN off of your package. You'll miss major basketball and football games, too. That's ridiculous.

Did you write a ¨concerned¨ e-mail or a ¨freaking pissed off¨ e-mail? :D I was about to write the second one but I figured they would either ignore me or get back to me after a long time. Oh wait, you actually talked to them right?

Yes it does--if you want to pick and choose; the english feed is on the sports package and the spanish feed on the spanish package. it's like 160 a month compared to 240 which was what i was paying for DirectTV+DSL+Phone. It also has FSC, Fox Sports Español, ESPN, ESPN2, EPSN Deportes, ESPN Classic, HDNet, and MSG. It also offers Setanta for the normal subscription fee.

It sucks you guys lost ESPN2, but I saw some ratings the other day for US-Mexico. Something about ESPN2 had about 1.2 million (maybe as many as 2 million) viewers, while Univision had 10 million viewers.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and take a wild guess that the Latino viewers were watching on Univision. ;)

This appears to be a cost-cutting move by DirecTV to take ESPN2, GSN, Current, etc. out of the DirecTV Mas (hybrid Spanish/English) base packages.

If you want both ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, you will now need to subscribe to an English-language base package (most people choose Choice or Choice Xtra) and add the "En Espanol" pack for another $20 a month.

(I take Choice Xtra, which includes ESPN Classic, Speed, Golf Channel, Versus, and NHL Network.)

Pay TV has become outrageously expensive (regardless of whether you choose cable, satellite, or IPTV from the telephone company such as Verizon FIOS and AT&T U-Verse), with no end to price increases in sight.

The Fios installation takes place today in my home.

On sunday i received and email from DirecTV advising me (and many other customers) that prices on all their packages would soon rise (2 to 3 dollars more a month.)
