There is a thread at https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107938 asking for predictions for the OFC World Cup qualifiers. Are you gentlemen up to the challenge? Crowdie
Crowdie, AUS to beat NZ over two legs in both the OFC Nations Cup & the OFC WC2006 Q's. The rest of the games are development opportunities for the other 10 teams, so the results could be anything from genuine close encounters to cricket scores !!!
Hey Crowdie, you beat me to it lol. I was just about to post the link in here but thanks Anyways, it's just for fun, and it's to see who's the best at predicting in the OFC! (ok, I know a lot of it is luck with the smaller teams in this region, but at least it'll give ya something to root for in the early games hehe)
Group 1 to begin with which seems the easiler of the two, however I am going out on a limb here with Tahiti not progressing to the next round. Solomon Islands 2-0 Tonga Tahiti 4-0 Cook Islands Solomon Islands 5-0 Cook Islands Tahiti 0-2 New Caledonia Tonga 1-1 Cook Islands New Caledonia 7-0 Cook Islands Tahiti 3-1 Tonga New Caledonia 5-0 Tonga Solomon Islands 2-2 Tahiti Solomon Islands 1-2 New Caledonia Solomon Islands and New Caledonia progress to stage 2 Will have another think and post group two a little later.
Group 2 Predictions PNG 1-3 Vanuatu Samoa 5-0 American Somoa American Somoa 0-6 Vanuatu Fiji 4-0 PNG Fiji 8-1 American Somoa Samoa 1-4 Vanuatu American Somoa 0-6 PNG Samoa 1-5 Fiji Fiji 1-2 Vanuatu Samoa 0-3 PNG Vanuatu and Fiji progress to stage 2
so the OFC cup final is in Adelaide and the group matches are where? Adelaide? i thought Group A will be in NZ and Group B in Adelaide? am i right? or WRONG?
GF, Stage 2 of the OCF WCQ's is being played in Adelaide. There is a THIRD stage for the OFC Cup !!!! Later THIS year (2004) the top 2 teams (of Stage 2) then play home & away for the OFC Cup and the right to represent Oceania at NEXT year's (2005) Confederations Cup in Germany. I'd expect those two teams to be AUS & NZ. WCQ's NEXT year (2005) those top two OFC teams AGAIN play home & away for the right to play against the #5 of the South American teams (home & away again) to take the last place in the next WC (Germany 2006). The locations (in AUS) for these 2 OFC home games (2004 & 2005) AND (if AUS qualifies) the last WCQ playoffs against SA #5 home (2005), have yet to be determined. My guess would be Sydney (2004), Melbourne (2005), Melbourne (2005) in that order. Andy T.
ok but i was playing CM4 and New Zealand got nocked out and i played PNG for the OFC cup! ok that is cool Where will Stage 1 be played?
