The OFC Nations Cup begins in 23 days. CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, and UEFA have summer tournaments that don't double as World Cup Qualifiers, and OFC is the only confederation with World Cup Qualifiers before late August and early September.

Tourney starts tomorrow. Can't wait to see Hudson's New Zealand in competitive match(es). Shame there is not full roster available, I hope some guys will attend second phase of WCQ. I wouldn't be surprised if some island nation wins this again and qualifies to the Confederations Cup. I'd put my money on New Caledonia if that's the case. I expect NZL, FIJ, SOL, PNG, TAH, NCL to progress to the WCQ and NZL, SOL, PNG, NCL to progress to the ONC semis. Also, instead of two stadiums, OFC pooped again and removed one from contention so 15 matches (7 double-headers) will be played at the same venue. They just don't learn from past (mistakes). Pathethic. It's the world-class venue though (huge upgrade on 2012's Honiara stadium), built for the 2015 Pacific games held in Port Moresby. Here's the schedule: 28 May New Zealand - Fiji Vanuatu - Solomons Islands 29 May Papua New Guinea - New Caledonia Tahiti - Samoa 31 May Vanuatu - New Zealand Solomons Islands - Fiji 1 June Papua New Guinea - Tahiti New Caledonia - Samoa 3 June Fiji - Vanuatu New Zealand - Solomons Islands 4 June Samoa - Papua New Guinea Tahiti - New Caledonia 8 June Semifinal 11 June Final

So proud of Marcus Alimonti who I coached last year. Represented Samoa today in their 4-nil loss to Tahiti. Great kid and footballer.

NZL and Solomons are through to the semis of the ONC, Fiji will join them in next stage of the WCQ. Fiji lost their semifinal spot in a loss against Vanuatu. Group stage conlcudes tomorrow, hosts will be looking to score as many goals as possible against Samoa to qualify to the semis. If they don't win by at least 4 goals, they will be eliminated if Franchophone derby ends in a draw. PNG plays first so we might be seeing cracking game against Tahiti and New Caledonia.

PNG and New Caledonia qualified to the semis, title holders out on goal-differential and without loss so two tournaments undefeated in a row for them. Semifinal Papua New Guinea - Solomon Islands New Zealand - New Caledonia

Here are the probabilities based on the William Hill betting odds: New Zealand win: 65.2% Draw: 21.7% Papua New Guinea win: 13.0% It adds up to 99.9% due to rounding.
New Zealand's best player, Chris Wood, will miss out the final match. Member of his family is getting married so he left the camp. They played really poor against New Caledonia (highlights show that, Caledonia had plenty of chances, Marinović was on fire with a few great saves) and got into the final after huge mistake by Caledonian goalie. Will be a tough match, I think those odds above aren't really fair.
