    hello all-

I would like to try out for the ODP team this fall, but the cost is outrageous ($1,000). I know that you can get sponsored, but how hard is it get sponsored, who would sponsor you, and how would you find sponsors?
    thx all-

$1000? Christ...The state tryouts for us were only like $125 or something. Go sell brownies or something.

It's 1,000 if you make the team, 35 to try out. Go to http://www.uysa.com/odp_payment.html

if you have to ask about getting sponsored then you wont. if you were possibly that good they would already know about you. yah sell cookies. or sell drugs you can make a few Gs in about 3 1/2 hours not a bad living eh?

thing is we've been in a really low-key league until now, because it's so much cheaprer, but after we started mutilation the competition, we had to move up, so most coaches have never seen me. I hope that I'm that good. THat would be nice

Don't quit your day job...I know a guy who made like one mistake in a professional match and his sub came in and had a good game. The guy that got subbed out didn't see any play time for about 2 years...

not true. following is a list of players who never even made an ODP team:

    Cobi Jones (LA Galaxy)
    Kenny Cooper (Manchester United)
    Nat Borchers (Colorado Rapids)
    John O'Brien (Ajax Amsterdam)

that's off the top of my head, but i saw a list that circulated here on bigsoccer, and it was like over 30 players in MLS.
