Our player pool on the whole plays at a much higher level, with better teams, in better leagues week in and week out. We have a much better player pool. It’s not particularly close. If we get outplayed, that’s on the coaching staff. So maybe the idea is we “should be” superior to Australia.

 

I love how much Pulisic needs to compete, but part of growing wiser is knowing when to just take the foul. Haji isn't taking on 4 defenders on his own, he had the call. Just stay down and save it for when it matters.

 

If only that was true of the other players.

There’s definitely a lack of cohesion with this lineup, but that shouldn’t have much of an influence over that goal. You don’t need to have any cohesion with your teammates to have a sense of urgency when defending in your own box.
