7 PM, Obetz... $2 to get in (yes, this is the "dead cop" match). 270 to Alum Creek Dr. (there's supposedly a water tower near the field).
Tonight is the Keith Evans Memorial Match with proceeds going to the Keith Evans Memorial Fund (or something similar). Evans was a Columbus police officer killed on duty. Bill Archer affectionately refers to tonight's match as the "match for the dead cop."
No, not liking Spam is just plain silly! I remember last years "dead cop match"; an old lady at the gate got upset because CrewPens and I wouldn't "donate" $5 per person instead of the customary $2. I'm pretty sure the old lady was Mark Smith's grandmother, simply because as CrewPens and I walked by, she kept on mumbling "Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money! Money!!!!"
I found out last week that there is in fact a water tower with a Crew logo in Obetz, but it is not very near the training facility. Nonetheless, the facility wasn't too hard to find (behind a police station, in between a trailer park and railroad tracks).
4153 Alum Creek Drive Columbus, OH 43207 Training ground address. It's against Cincinnati (A-League) as well.
The "dead cop" ************ is pretty ************ing sick. I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but you people should be ashamed of yourselves.
