Sorry if I'm missing it but I don't see a thread for him. Looks like he was influential in his team's win today; his first competitive match in Ligue Un. Attention Mesdames et Messieurs!
It's in the academy section... the moderators haven't gotten around to moving the thread. I'm sure they will soon.
Dude, you don't get to just START a thread. There's a process. We have to have a title. Various people suggest funny puns regarding either the player's name or his club. The best have both. A coterie of grumps, with increasing desperation, argue that the titles should be "Player at Club." Then we debate the merits of the candidates for several pages. Sometimes there's a quick consensus. More often, there are 3-5 clear favorites. We vote to get it down to the final two, then have a vote to pick the winner. I mean, Rob, where the hell do you get off just starting a thread? You have to do the committee work first!
People who refuse to use the Oxford comma should be disemboweled. (Same for programmers who use spaces instead of tabs.)
I recently saw something on the internet about hilarious missing commas. One went something like this. blah blah blah about Merle Haggard's two wives, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. That was the 2nd best one, but I can't remember the best one!
I came on here thinking we'd be talking about his good game from this weekend. I also thought it was really weird the thread showed up with a dedicated title. I thought, "where have I been that I missed the naming debate"
But I spent all that time on Google Translate to try and make it look like I remembered something from high school French class 42 years ago! OK, I accept that I have violated the BS Covenant and angered the forum gods. One of my daughters made me watch Rhythmic Gymnastics last week and it really messed with my brain. Please have mercy on me, a sinner.
Well, if you are looking for a good read about the Oxford Comma (and, let's not ******** around, I've read your posts here for years so I know you won't be able to resist), try this: https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/09/us/dairy-drivers-oxford-comma-case-settlement-trnd/index.html For the rest of you, the Oxford Comma cost someone $5,000,000. Not kidding.
"forum gods" can eat a butt. the first freaking page of posts with about two mentions of the topic make this as official as bs gets.
"Gorky, RossD, Eighteen Alpha and 3 others repped this." Let be known that BS does not use the Oxford comma.
I was told that war was how we landed on this shore, I just thought the drums of war beat a little bit louder.
I only sing that you'll never walk alone. I walk alone all the time (just like Johnny Cash and his wife Merle Haggard). Edit: oh wait, Johnny walked the line. Greenday walked alone. I mix those acts up all the time.
There is, of course, a cure for the Oxford comma or lack thereof: halfway decent f*cking sentence structure. But I digress. Le jour de gloire est arrive.
