Ya, an apathetic youth that spends their hours watching/reading Twilight and playing crappy XBOX 360 shooting games is a much better thing for the future of the country/world.

I feel bad for the other couple of thousand students that pay almost 30k per year for an education that had to put up with this horsecrap. Maybe if you are so hung up on giving a Palestinian an education you could donate yours, kiddos.

No! we have to fight the system MAAAAAAANNNNNNN!

Campus radicals at UT Austin were hot.

But everybody in the Northeast is just uglier.

The meanings of repression and tyranny have been lost to these kids.

This isn't at NYU. Mods, could you change the title?

Dammit, Gawker is blocked by our interweb filter here at the liberry. Hopefully I'll remember to check this thread out at home; I can only imagine the unintentional comedy gold.

Even if they're cute in a picture, in real life you actually have to smell them which is usually a deal-breaker. Then you've got the whole issue of hair in places where it shouldn't be.

    From one of your links.

That's the only one I clicked.

But you're right, the other links are about NYU. What's weird is that Bob Kerrey is NOT at NYU. That's a weird mistake to make.

My bad, the third link is apparently about a different incident.

Those kids have way too much time on their hands.

There is a reason the crap at the New School turned out the way it did.....

Generally, I'm with the kids who RISE UP, yay! But we're talking about NYU here, and unless (or even if) you're at Tisch or Stern, you're better off going to a school with lower tuition and not in a city with ridiculously high cost of living. It's not like these kids didn't know they were going to school in a neighborhood where studio apartments start at $2,500/m.

I know college tuition has risen much, much faster than inflation, but if you're doing lib-arts, you're not any worse off attending your home state university (seriously, in most fields, only douchetards really care where you did your undergrad), and I can't think of a single program where NYU is undeniably the best.

(Also, I'm assuming all these kids are paying their own way through school.)

I do have sympathy for grad students, because they are getting screwed over and providing (apparently) top notch education on a pittance that doesn't come close to living wage. But again, there are other schools with equally good programs with better pay at whatever they're studying/teaching.

Also, Gawker, no one of college age has watched Felicity. NYU is where the Olsen Twins dropped out from.

Depending on where that hair is, it might be a flavor saver.

Those kids have read just enough to be stupid, but not enough to know they're stupid.

    Rest assured; you were! :D
The silliness started at the New School, subsequently continued at nearby NYU.
We're all missing the video of when "Administrators and guards then stormed the room"!
Reading the various entries may convince you that NYU has either abandoned English grammar and composition, or somehow stifled them among the protestors.

Ummm...what is this all about? What exactly are they protesting? I watched the video on the third link, and it sounds like a bunch of whiny little retards with entitlement problems who don't exactly know what they are doing. Is this a real protest or just some way to get their names in the paper?

"Were using consensus on how to proceed!!!"

I'm all for a good sit in, as long as it's meaningful. This is ********ing stupid.

I liked how the girl started screaming like the security guards were raping her, only to hear her tell the others "HE WAS TOUCHING MY SHOULDER!!!"

Nah, the best part was at the end where he's going through his bag trying to see what items they were going to confiscate. "Here's my iPod...water bottle, they won't take that, they probably drink corporate water...Powerbook...Macbook...Macbook charger...iPod touch...they won't want clothes, they wear suits"
