Shocking that a guy with a background like Djorkaeff is "only" 4th on the team as far as salary.

Tony Meola not on here since he was still with KC at the time the list was provided.

Odd that MLS would give Donovan $900K, when he probably would have come back for less than half that amount.

Carlos Ruiz must have the worst agent on the planet if he's not able to get more than $40K

Good job by Jack Bell on the article.

There's already a discussion on this at the MLS N&A board, and MF.com knew Youri's salary when he joined.

What I take out of the article is this: if you see Zach Wells or Carlos Mendes at a Burger King any time soon, do them a little favor and pick up the check.

Yes, his approx salary was reported by Ives and Michael Lewis when he signed and well known by most who follow the team. All I'm saying is it's suprising that MLS was able to sign him for considerably less than guys like Galvan Rey and Razov, considering Youri's background.

Donovan and Adu's contracts are also supplemented by thier sponser dollars.

MLS is paying 40k of Ruiz total salary his club in Guatamala is suppling the rest whatever that is through the arrangment between them and MLS.

This list is no surprise we all knew what SGR, Amado, and Youri were making and had a pretty good idea what Razov was making.

Youri's 37 years old. He was a considerable risk for the team and MLS negotiated a deal that was commensurate with that risk. Sure he's been great when he has played but he's missed 6 of 16 games as well. $180K feels about right for him.

MLS needs to keep Ruiz around after whatever arrangement they have runs out. That dude is awesome.

    Huh
Wonder how RSL feels shelling out close to 800k for Clint and Eddie. Amazing for those salaries 1) how much time is missed to to national team play 2) the money going out to players injured 3) the money going out to players that dont perform (Clint, Eddie, Tony).

Virtually all of the top ten make Amado look very underpaid.

Jeff fu<king Agoos has a base salary of $160,000!?!?!? What is wrong with this picture????? Man, if I could meet Jeff I would tell him right to his face to pay back each and every cent of that salary to the fans who have bought tickets this year and make him work for free the rest of this season. You've got to be out of your mind to pay him that - he is worth half of that and that would be pushing it. What a waste of money.

You are complaining so much about Agoos when SGR makes even more? At least Agoos has proved himself in this league.

Yes, but Sergio continues to improve every game and is playing his way now into the starting 11. Agoos is just the opposite. He continues to decline and in my opinion, shouldn't be in the startin 11. He should be used only as a sub.

Ryan Suarez at $65K is a good deal.

A bench player for 65K, and with Mendez coming in last week, Suarez isnt even their first defensive option off the bench. If they arent going to use him, it is a waste of 65K.

He is still new to the team. My guess would be that Suarez will feature in the majority of the game for the rest of the season.
