M.L.S. and NBCSN Give Birth to Ratings By JACK BELL NBCChris Wondolowski will be featured in the first episode of “MLS 36″ on NBCSN. http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/08/04/m-l-s-and-nbcsn-give-birth-to-ratings/
You should never copy/paste an ENTIRE ARTICLE wholesale from anywhere, let alone a NY Times blog. Especially when you don't credit where you got it from. Lame.
He does credit Jack Bell though. I actually appreciate the copy/paste. Saves me the trouble of clicking on a link. Anyways good news on the ratings. I personally enjoy the NBCSports broadcasts the most and look forward to those games more than ESPN, Galavision, FSC or anything on Direct Kick. Kudos to them for getting the game. I'm really anxious to see how the 3 NBC games do. I'd love to exceed expectations and hopefully have an expanded NBC schedule for 2013.
Fixed. Also, please don't editorialize like that in the title. I don't think the N&A forum needs a 'clowning' thread. Yes, well, but that would be the point.
Some of us are new here and don't know the rules. Apologies to whomever this offended, but is there a good reason to be so rude?
I actually think two things have happened (are happening) to make the games on TV more viewable, and only one of those things can be credited to NBCSN. First, today we're almost always watching soccer games played in real soccer stadiums (or Seattle which is fine too). Visually, that's a huge change and it makes the TV product visually appealing in a way it wasn't in the past. Second, NBCSN produces their games in a way that FSC simply didn't. When you combine those things together, the games no longer come across as a second tier product on a second tier channel. It looks like a real professional game and a real professional production -- and it's easy to feel positive about watching that sort of thing.
Agree with both of those points; putting aside actual game appearance and production, both of which have been huge improvements, I've been impressed by the NBCSN promos that have been running throughout olympic coverage. It shows the best points of NBCSN programming, and MLS is right there along with the NHL and Tour de France as feature points. Those promos, plus new programming like the MLS 36 shows are very nice to see.
No, there isn't. Just a bunch of internet wienies empowered by the anonymity of the internet. It feels so GOOD to put other people down and feel superior. Thanks for the post.
Well, you do deprive the blog author of actual pageviews when you post whole articles w/o a link, and Bigsoccer readers tend to like to support journalists who write quality articles (at quality outlets) about MLS. The rudeness is just the cherry on top.
They don't just produce their games better than FSC, the produce them better than ESPN too. Games on ESPN are painful to watch if you've just been watching a game on NBCSN.
they are arrogant punks who grew up in front of a computer and don't know here out in the world we understand that mistakes happen. Dont let it get to you
All right, all right, all right. Let's just consider this a lesson learned and not pile on, m'kay? Let's observe copyright, not be too editorial in the title, but also not take gratuitous shots just because a guy is new. Thanks.
