NYRB and some bad paperwork

    Interesting note at the end of the article:
    I don't know about the others, but Corrales didn't play or sit on the bench in the SJ match. He was rested along with several other regular starters. Hard to know if the Quakes sat him out because they thought he was suspended or not.

    But this quote is a bit strange - Buethe is saying that other players were listed incorrectly but were teams notified that they were listed incorrectly or were they just lucky if they played them and didn't read the report?

    The insidemnsoccer.com article linked by thecup.us says that the teams were notified about the incorrect suspensions.

    The last US Open Cup Ramiro Corrales played in was in 2004, as he went to Europe and then the Earthquakes never qualified since he returned. He was sent off in a quarterfinal against the Minnesota Thunder and served the suspension in the semifinal at Kansas City.
