    I know we take it as a given, but the 2 youth sides made the DA playoffs again this year.

    U15-16 finished 5th in their division and picked up a wildcard slot. They're slotted into Group H, playing Seattle, Chicago Sockers, and Gottschee

    U17-18 finished 3rd (Philthy was 1st) in their division. They've drawn into what must be the GoD, Group C, with defending champs FC Dallas, Seattle and Beachside (CT)

    Games for both age groups are June 22, 24, and 26.

    Neither team (U16 or U18) advanced from the group stage in the DA playoffs

    There was an interesting post in the Youth Forum about FC Dallas' classes and HG signings through the years. Kind of a brain exercise to see what to expect, project, and hope for out of the 'top academy' in the US.

    Since we're usually listed as the 2nd top academy, it made me curious.
    I've produced our list.

    The Johnny Exantus HG Compendium :)

    89 Lade (5736), Kassel (82)
    90 Chirgadze
    91 Hot
    92 Agudelo (1757)
    93 S.Davis (2157), B.Allen (7), Metzger, Thomsen, Gallego
    94 Corboz, Thorsheim
    95 Miazga (3002), Muyl (2635), Amando Moreno (2), Basuljevic, Santiago Castano, [Cannouse]
    96 Etienne (380), E.Louro, [a]Echevarria, [a]Lema, [a]Politz, [a]A.Tejera?
    97 [A]Borges, [a]H.Martin, [a]Kyle Zajec, [a]Samarago
    98 [a]O'Toole, [a]Powder, [a]Deeds, [a]S.Teixeira, [a]RyanMingachos, [Olosunde]
    99 Adams (832), [a]Shgenobu, [a]ZachRyan, [a]Omir Fernandez, [a]JPMarin, [a]XKennedy
    00 [a]Gloster, [a]BenMines, [a]SamIlin, [a]MattFrank, [Weah]

    (first team MLS minutes, season+playoffs; No CCL or Open Cup)
    [a]still in academy/college - mostly guys that appeared with RB2 before college
    [name]lost abroad - I know there are 2-5 more that I'm forgetting

    Xtra Value:
    Agudelo -> HeathPearce (2867) + allocation$
    Gallego -> Kimura (2459) + 2nd round pick -> Ian Christianson (9)
    Miazga -> $5 mil transfer fee = $3.75m + max allocation 650K

    Another 8 to RB2 (1 91, 4 92, 2 94, 1 97 Lombard)

    I have no idea what we've spent on the academy over the past decade but it amazes me that Connor Lade stands out as much as he does. No one's close on minutes, even if you give Agudelo Heath Pearces minutes.
    Miazga is obviously the second benchmark - that transfer fee probably funds the academy for 3-4 years by itself.
    Also surprised that Muyl has so many minutes already. Good for him & us.

    Muyl is kind of on a similar track as Lade, not a spectacular player, but one is relied upon and puts in a lot of solid minutes for the club.

    Showcase Update - The u 17s finished with a great victory over Vancouver Whitecaps 3 - 2. Scott Taylor scored a hat trick to keep up his impressive form. Been a great 1st half of the season for the 17s - well done to all the players and coach ODonnell. #RBNY #TheFutureIsBright

    Academy seems to be having a rough week,weak finish of the Generation Adidas cup

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/generation-adidas-cup/2018/qualifying

    U17 lost 3 this week, 1-3 OSC, 0-4 NYCFC, 1-4 ATL

    saw that the U15 had at least 1 loss as well.

    Could be an interesting year if NYC has their shit together and we finally don't automatically qualify for all playoffs.
    Would be nice to have to beat ATL to get through to FCD for a change too.
