Maryland holds off Virginia 2-1 to advance to the College Cup Final against Notre Dame. Metzger went 90 for the Terps and had one shot on goal. He came back to help cover and committed the foul in the 77th minute, giving up the PK that Virginia scored to pull one back. Thomsen played 76 minutes and received a caution in the Cavs losing effort.
He went 90 which is a great sign. You play your best guys in game 3. He got the start and saw it all the way through to a big win. If he's an outside back that is a huge plus for us moving forward. We need outside players bad.

Below is an interview with U-17 coach Richie Williams. He mentions Olosunde as one of several players who did well.
"A player like right back Matthew Olosunde did very well." It's not much of a quote, but it's better than nothing!
He's probably not expected to be one of the star players, but if he continues to play well, I'm sure his name will get around.
It's a pretty big accomplishment to play for the USYNT. You have to have a lot of talent to get that far. However, he's just a number at this point. Only 1-2 kids from every academy class will end up having a pro career worth mentioning. Only once in a great while do you get a real special talent. Great stuff and hopefully he continues to work hard and stays healthy.
Agreed. He's 15, so he's pretty far away from being an MLS starter. OTOH, he is training every day in a professional environment. He's fine where he is in Bradenton. After his class graduates, that's the time to consider signing him. Again, being a starter for that team is a positive step, but he has to continue developing.
Castano, Miazga, and Moreno were called up by Tab Ramos for the latest USMNT U-20 training camp. He called them up last November too. They must be playing well for him! NYRB academy player Arun Basuljevic has also been called up.

where did you find the info that Basuljevic has been called up as well. I can't find a list of all of the campers anywhere.
It's a "source" of Ives, so I guess it's not official. http://www.soccerbyives.net/2014/01/sources-bulls-called.html
Ummmmmm....so the U.S. training camp roster is out and ALEXANDER is on it. And Dax too. http://www.ussoccer.com/teams/us-men/latest-roster/140103-jan-training-camp.aspx

Lets hope they can contribute in the future. Got to think it's only going to get better in the future as the new regime seem very interested in youth player development. Since the topic is on hand should we expect any players to sign with the first team this year?
The only ones I think they are considering signing are Arun Basuljevic and Chris Lema since both of them are going to Florida with the first team for preseason. Beyond that, it is a mystery
I know we need a RB right now, but looks like we may have a good prospect in the future. Matthew Olosunde has made the USMNT U-17 spring residency. http://www.soccerbyives.net/2014/01/williams-players-residency.html
