Claudio Reyna just said on ESPN that NYCFC would have similar colors to MC but its own logo. when asked about the stadium, it sure sounded like FMCP was already in the rearview mirror, if you read between the lines
NY 8 million + suburbs vs. Manchester City 2 million - over half the pop Man U fans I think the Sheikh and his associates in the Bronx are trying to figure out ways to Beckemize MLS's salary cap even further so they can run the team on the Cosmos model and City will soon become the tail on the dog. Now MLS may go down in flames in the process but hey a Sultan has to do what a Sultan has to do, right?
It's more than hint. They may not have come out and said it 100%, but it's pretty obvious what colors they're heading towards. And why would the Yankees want their team associated in any way with the Mets colors?
New York (NJ) professional team colors: NFL Giants-royal blue, red, white (grey pants) Jets-hunter green, white MLB Yankees-navy (midnight) blue pinstripes, white/away=grey, black, white Mets-royal blue, orange, white NBA Knicks-royal blue, orange, white Nets-black, white NHL Rangers-royal blue, red, white/liberty jerseys-navy blue, red, white Islanders-navy blue, orange, white (not including the NJ Devils) MLS Red Bulls-red, white, yellow, (navy blue) The Jets and Red Bull are the exceptions in this group as far as the use of blue is concerned as a major color for uniform recognition. NYCFC going with sky blue would be totally against the NY precedents in the use of either royal or navy blue. Blue with orange would tie in with Mets, Knicks, Islanders. Blue with red would tie in with Giants & Rangers. Old guard=Yankees, Giants, Knicks, Rangers Younger franchises=Jets, Mets, Nets, Islanders NYCFC = ???
Sporting Kansas City has this sky blue color scheme already, but I understand that Man City owners would want to keep their brand identity with similar colors. So if New York City FC decide to go the sky blue color scheme to keep with their traditions, the kit color scheme of Argentina's National team uniform is a good possibility for New York City FC primary kits with white stripes on a sky blue shirt and Yankees navy blue shorts and sox. It would keep with Man City color traditions and include Yankees navy blue. I would say the secondary kit color scheme would look good in a solid navy blue shirt and sky blue sleeves with sky blue shorts and navy blue sox. Their third kits could be more of a New York City orange and blue color scheme for non league, CONCACAF Champions League, US Opens Cup and International friendly competitions.

I like the idea of pinstripes..As for colours/design etc I as a Cityfan would like to see something a bit different from what we got at home so to say. But no doubt NIKE will be all over this as well.
i really like how unique this is, it really stands out. my idea was something that was a play on the famous obviously you could change the elements, better font, different colours, even a better soccer ball ... but i like the idea of doing something simple and playing off the "i heart ny" iconography since it is so famous. mine is just a rough idea that i threw together with powerpoint and paint.
I like the funky interlocking letters of Fluminense's crest. Here is a recolor-- imagine an "NYC" instead of an "FFC". Something along these lines:
I think we all know the uniforms will be very similar to MCFC but the crest will be uniquely New York's. I didn't make this, but I found it on google. I don't really like it, but just to get the thread started here it is:
