    Actual tweet:

RBNY: League sources tell me that there will be a major shake-up atop RBNY very soon.

Can't possibly imagine that Soler or Backe are going to get the boot right now, timing just doesn't make any sense and despite all of our whining the team has had a record breaking season. Heck out?

So, Vettel gets to run the Ticketing Dept. for several weeks? After all, Dyer is the one leaking this, no?

Curious that this shakeup would come on the heels of a major signing.

Hmm, trying to think of what they could possibly do. Sell the team?

Ha, that would be a major shake up indeed. I can't imagine it would be anything that drastic.

Sounds like either Hans or Soler are leaving to me. I would not be surprised if Soler is off to be GM/Director of Football elsewhere. Hans sacked after the last match or off to manage in Scandinavia?

Sacking Bakke now makes zero sense. It can't possibly be that.

If Henry hates him I could see it.

It's definitely not Soler leaving. He's doing a fantastic job this year.

It's definitely not Backe leaving. He's not doing that bad a job and the timing doesn't make sense for a team at the top of the table.

It's probably not an ownership change. RB has put a lot of money into the team, and would probably need to be offered a ton of money to sell.

It could be a name change, but those things tend to be announced in the offseason (though I wouldn't rule out an announcement now for next season).

It could be Heck leaving, but those things tend to be announced in the offseason as well.

Indeed, but a change at the top implies management, not players.

Backe stinks. Coaches have been fired before in his situation. I don't think it is going to happen if they didn't get rid of him after last season.

NJ Redbulls, NJ MetroStars sponsored by RedBull? Maybe we bought the Cosmos.

Don't think Heck would be a big deal.

In the scheme of things, firing your guy in charge of the business/tickets side of things is a pretty big shake up , even if it doesn't neccessarily effect the on-field product.

I am praying it's Heck getting canned (Well, I'd love a rename too, but I doubt that's what it is), but I am prepared to be underwhelmed.

Can't be Backe--"league sources" would never leak or even care about a coaching change at any specific team.

A rename or Heck/Marquez leaving would probably be the most likely

or maybe Backe out and Henry as a player-manager until the end of the season?

I agree and Marquez isn't a "shake up at the top". It's hard to imagine Soler being fired unless he's really pissed a bunch of people off and RB isn't happy that Cahill isn't more of a splash like Kaka, and "shake up" to me suggests Soler isn't quitting. So reading the tea leaves on the quote, it's hard to imagine for me that it's not Heck - who arrogantly thought he didn't need to learn anything from the past.

A while back, I linked an article where the Real Salt Lake management was closely in tune with STHs and were sure to make them feel important/valued - the exact opposite of Heck's arrogant approach. He should never have been hired.

I don't understand why people argue that Heck can't be it because it's not a big deal. "Shake up at the top" doesn't mean it's necessarily a big deal, to me it just means someone in management is getting fired or moved.

How does "shake up at the top" translate to sale or rebranding? I don't see how those words can mean that but who knows I guess. Backe isn't at the top but arguably is the top of the team I guess, Soler or Heck seem like the choices to me.

If its Soler you have to imagine he's leaving because he wants to, he's done a fantastic job this season.

From a fan perspective yes - from a management perspective? Who will they blame for Marquez? He got Cahill instead of Kaka? Those aren't exactly moves that parent company probably falls in love with. But I agree with you - if it's him he's probably leaving on his own volition.

Isn't general consensus that Marquez wasn't really Soler's choice, his higher ups forced the move on him? And surely you can't fire a guy over not getting Kaka years before any reasonable person would think he'd be ready to sign here, and having to "settle" for Cahill.

Of course this is all based on one unverified tweet so for all we know nothing could happen at all.

Soler leaving really makes no sense at this point so I don't think it's going to be him.

I think it has to do with other parts of our FO like maybe Chris Heck. But does that count as major?

Either way we are speculating and it will be interesting to see what the hell is actually going on once the shit hits the fan.

Oh - I didn't know that about Marquez. I don't mean firing him for not getting Kaka, but spending millions on a guy like Cahill who doesn't really forward the brand in ways that a guy like Kaka would.

Like Fina, I'm prepared to be disappointed but it's fun to dream.
