    @ NY again

well, Fish is gonna be gone. Danny and Simon are in France. Cien is back. Hong is out (injured) as is Peter. Tyrone still isn't 100%. Who else am I missing?

MetroSARS are missing Cleatus, Timmy!, and Pope.

I have no effing clue who will win this one, but damn, we sure need a road win.

Like rok said earlier, time for Albright's breakout game - - after all, we've been keeping this secret weapon hidden for two years, why not unleash it now?

I'm getting sick of ties, too.

And to complicate things, Sasha is also suffering from a bad back and is less than 100%. Maybe APC gets a start?

Wouldn't that be hot if APC got the start and scored one or two goals?

Of course, wouldn't it be great if we scored more than 1 goal on the road?

I think it would be great if we just came out committed to the attack. I think we'd shock the hell out of the Metros.

cl_hanley told me that the Magee or Gavin had at least 3 good chances to score goals against the Fire. If either one has settled in & plays with confidence, we could be in for a tedious match.

Somehow I feeling a little positive: we might actually sneak away with a road win, but then again, I'm thinking Albright will have a breakout game this Sat.

I was confident heading into tomorrow's game with Ruiz.

Now I'm not sure what will happen.

We NEED a road win, badly, and hopefully Cobi will take the "bull by the horns" & lead us to a W.

I think Sigi guaranteed Albright would have his break out game this Saturday, shattering his declaration that henceforth we would hear no more Nostradamus type prognostications from him. So there you go...Albright with the break out game. In the bag.

    ahhhhhhhh

    1-0 metropuke!!

how do you lose to a team that starts mark lisi?

the galaxy had nothing in the middle.. and absolutely no finishers with Ruiz.

Why do we suck so bad?

Sigi has the team playing conservatively at an away match like a team honing in on a near perfect season should. Unfortunately, our season is a wreck on the road and conservative has been an absolute flop, yet that's what Sigi's instincts tell him to do. Poor, poor coaching. We looked great in desperation mode. Why not go into the game desperate? What possible reasoning can Sigi be using when he comes up with a conservative gameplan? Is he afraid of losing?

    Fouls

Metrostars seemed to go into the game with determination gauging by the 3+ tactical/blatant fouls. But I would not want the Galaxy to win in this way - not that Metrostars didn't deserve the win based on performance. I think Bradley's glare showed a win at all cost attitude. Too many blatant fouls take away from a win.

Thanks for the kind words. But we also have a patchwork defense that has at least one complete and total break down per game and leaves Kevin out to dry.

Memo's debut was .... not memorable.

I won't say that this team is comletely impotent, but even at my advanced age I score more than they do.

I thought I saw him enter the match. I swear I never saw him get a touch on the ball.

Saw him touch the ball twice, once on the sideline, in traffic, and once in the middle, with open space. First one he tried to dribble out of the defenders and didn't. Second he had nobody infront of him but 5 MetroSARS. He ended up doing what everybody else did - gave a bad pass

Just wanted to thank you for letting Brian Mullan(4 goals, 4 assists) go. We wouldn't be in first place without him.

No problem. You can owe us the beer when we're next up San Ho way or when you come down in September.

    what the hell

No Ruiz, No Cien, No Califf, No Elliott, No Vaegnas.

granted we should still beat NY with the crap that on the field that passes for LA Galaxy nowadays.

I mean, victorine, albright, retiz, lewis, and memo... sumbuddy was hyping this kid wayyyyyyy to much for me. He is a long way from this level of play.

The team needs some new life.... a trade or signing should be imminent.

2 more freakin cups to go... more lost players to international duty.

    Re: what the hell

Not quite right - Cien was there for 70 or so relatively ineffective minutes.

At least we get Califf and Elliot back soon from France.

APC had a couple of nice shots and forced one terrific save out of Grafer. Maybe he's finally coming on.

I don't know if Memo was "over hyped" but he is pretty green and not ready to step into MLS yet.

I do tend to agree that the team does not have enough attacking skills to be competative as it is now constituted, and some personnel changes are in order.

One thing that must be looked at for upcoming seasons is that we need to get our starting player age averages down. I know Memo didn't have an effect on the game, but it was his first professional game afterall and he came in late. Despite the fact that he didn't do much, the two or three touches I saw out of him had the glimmer of nice things to come. I've heard that he has a tendency to be lazy, so I would not be surprised to see him struggle a bit in this regard. We'll just have to see this kid in some more games before we can accurately predict how far he has to go. Right now, the Galaxy are playing at a level nowhere near championship quality. This road game impotence must be turned around and there is absolutely no excuse for it. Had the Gs come off of several crap seasons like DC United, some arguments to the contrary could be made, but we're the reigning MLS champions. Teams can now literally count on a victory at home versus the Gs. Mind boggling.

    NY game

Yeah ----Hey here's a Galaxy fan from outside of SCal. Was at the game in NJ and disappointed, of course. They are EXPERIENCED, but sluggish against the youngs bees buzzing around for the Metrostars. I am thinking having Albright and Glinton starting together may have produced the first goal and, HOPEFULLY, changed the momentum. Missed greatly, of course, were Danny and Bo in the back. Hartman was there, as always. I have to say, fan-wise, the NY folks are much less hostile than those in Columbus. We live NOWHERE NEAR anywhere so our choices are long drives to: Ohio, NJ, DC or Foxboro to see our team. I'm hoping they advance to the Hunt Cup so we have one more chance in 2003.
    Loyal, but worried.....

Hopefully no NY fans will see your "not hostile" comment - they might take that as a challenge.

In any event, sounds like you are a real road warrior and it is nice to see LAG has some out-of-town support. How did you come to be an LAG fan given that you are geographically closer to a bunch of other squads?

    Re: Re: NY game

I'd like to know the answer to that question, myself.

Speaking as a "former NYer" living in L.A. now for 10 months, for me it was Cobi Jones, my favorite US soccer player + Los Angeles, the GREATEST city in the USA, that lead me to the Galaxy!!

Loved the 80's Lakers (THAT was basketball) & the Kings (especially, when "The Great One" was traded to L.A.), now it's the Galaxy's turn!!!
