26' 0-0. Seattle are getting skunked on stats, 1(0)-(2)6 shots(sog), 0-2 corners, 1-15 crosses, 0-1 offside, 4-2 fouls. 27' 0-0 Colaprico serves into box, Kerr goes up with hand, Ld.Williams catches. Yellow card on Kerr, for unsportswomanlike conduct? 28' 0-0 Long quacks a square pass, DiBernardo sticks a foot in the way and blocks it to Kerr. Kerr counters 1-v-3 to 25m center, scoops right instep just wide left. 30' 0-0 1h 2nd hydration/oxygenation break.
39' 0-0 Oyster hoofs long, Seattle head-juggle from left to box mid-right. Fishlock runs on, shot blocked by Short into near touch. 40' 0-0 Seattle right throw-in at 25m, Long bagged offside by Ertz stepping up. 41' 0-0 Kawasumi left ck. A local youth team is standing alongside the sideboards in that corner, and every one of them has a smartphone out, taking video of Kawasumi
44' 0-0 Chicago taps back to Colaprico at circle top right. Fishlock runs through the ball, wrong-foots Colaprico unbalanced, accelerates away from her. Colaprico chases for 30m, finally reaches right hand out and gently shoves Fishlock in the lower back -- enough to make her sprawl, just as Ertz steps up and clears ball away. Foul yellow card on Colaprico. 45' 0-0 Seattle fk, floated toward 6-top center, Naeher comes out and catches. +4'.
Seattle is lucky not to be behind at the half. They're looking a bit impotent offensively without Rapinoe and Yanez. Chicago is able to push a lot of players forward. Seattle might best bunker and hope to get a goal on a counter -- or settle for a tie. Chicago needs a win. But then there's Kerr. Can Seattle keep her off the score sheet?. I'm not seeing her partner in crime Nagasato on the field tonight, so maybe that is discombobulating Kerr.
47' 0-0 Many contested pings at midfield (Seattle's) box left, Fishlock finally stumble-pokes ball backward. Kerr runs center-to-right to collect, Oyster tugs her right hand back to prevent her from turning corner. Foul, yellow card on Oyster -- for persistent infringement? 51' 0-0 Chicago probe in Seattle's box left. Tap outside to LB Short way up at box top wide left -- marked by RF Spencer that far back. Short drives to box left foot, Spencer backshields her off ball, out for a gk. Yaay for forwards who play defense to their own endline
54' 0-0 Chicago square pass to box top right, Andrews clangs ball down box right, in DiBernardo's stride. DiBernardo goes to 4m mid-right, hard ground cross to 6m center. Kerr is unmarked thereat, one-touch grasstop volley to 1/3 right hard, off Ld.Williams' chest as she scoots centerward from right post, cleared. Now, maybe Seattle should mark Kerr in the box and prevent that shot in the first place 🇦🇺 🆚 🇦🇺 on this one, and @lydsaussie denies @samkerr1 from close range!#SEAvCHI | #NWSL pic.twitter.com/nQLxouaZjP— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 16, 2018 59' 0-0 Kawasumi passes up centerline to Fishlock facing away at arc top center. Fishlock dummies over ball, J.Taylor runs on through box top mid-left and races Naeher to 9m 6-left -- Naeher wins. 61' 0-0 Brian turnover, J.Taylor drives to 13m mid-right, tries a right sole sweep-behind but putts it too far to 9m center, Naeher dives on it. 62' 0-0 2H 1st hydration break.
64' 0-0 Chicago subs in (1 of 3) #12 Yuki Nagasato for #4 Alyssa Mautz. 66' 0-0 Chicago subs in (2 of 3) #14 Sarah Gorden (not on game roster?) for #6 Casey Short (leg). 75' 0-0 Andrews chips long toward Fishlock 1-v-3 at circle top, Fishlock somehow gets flattened. Foul, stoppage for -- 76' 0-0 2h 2nd hydration break.
79' 0-0 Seattle subs in (1 of 3) #13 Adriana Leon for #9 Nahomi Kawasumi. 80' 0-0 Kerr receives at 25m left touch, dribbles fast to arc top mid-left on Oyster, taps square right to White at arc top left -- and continues her own run. White taps one-touch down mid-left, Kerr runs on behind Seattle's backline and flag stays down (no parallel angle replay). Kerr touches to 6-top 5-left, shoots left instep just wide left low. Just wide for Kerr. #SEAvCHI | #NWSL pic.twitter.com/PW53zYEF9j— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 16, 2018 82' 0-0 Leon blasts a shot from arc top into scrum, ball bounces out to box top mid-right. Spencer backpasses, Nielsen chips across box top to 14m mid-left. Fishlock collects past Gilliland hopping awkwardly, touches to 9m 6-left, shoots left instep hard off left post low (or Naeher's hand diving). Ball bounces over endline left. 90+8' (of +8') 0-0 Spencer lunges past Ertz at 24m center, wins a shin-poke duel in her own stride, lands and slips a diagonal pass to Leon unmarked down mid-left to 10m. Leon pulls left instep shot across mouth low, but it outswings wrong way, wide right low. Spencer forces the turnover, but Leon's first-time touch sends the ball wide back across goal late into stoppage time.#SEAvCHI | #NWSL pic.twitter.com/RdzFj4vlD0— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 16, 2018 FT 0-0. 41' 1-0 Ordega switches from circle front tangent left to Pugh at arc top box right. Pugh cuts inside past Chapman, Lavelle makes a run up centerline through spot, Pugh tries the vertical through-ball but Polkinghorne intercepts at box top right post. RB T.Smith is way up at 30m on Ohai, RCB Quinn is way way up at circle top mid-right. Polkinghorne outlets to Daly coming back to circle back mid-(their)left -- Daly knows there's this ginormous void behind Quinn. Daly one-touch backpass to Motlhalo at own 30m arc left -- and Daly instantly curls up box left lane, toasting Quinn in a footrace, opening 10m lateral separation. Motlhalo sees the same thing, instant one-touch pass into space, perfectly dies in Daly's stride at 35m bo left. Daly veers through box top left, has Latsko 1-v-1 through arc right -- meanwhile, Ohai trails hard, winning her footrace past T.Smith by 3m. Daly Daly half-stumbles at 14m mid-left, cutback pass past Quinn to box top left post. Ohai runs on, shoots one-touch right instep just inside left post low, it bounces in past Bledsoe's dive. That Motlhalo kid is pretty sharp: she saw it and made the perfect pass. Right in the corner off the counter. @KealiaOhai finishes this one off from @RachelDaly3 and the Houston Dash are up, 1–0!#HOUvWAS | #NWSL pic.twitter.com/4kj35rkmYF— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 18, 2018 HT 1-0. Don't get into a footrace with Daly and Ohai.
58' 2-0 Dougherty Howard underhits a switch toward Hatch crossing midfield box left. Comeau intercepts, one-touch knockdown to Huerta unmarked at circle top mid-right -- and Comeau continues her run up wide right. Huerta turns, has nobody in front of her to 20m+ , dribbles to 25m mid-right, passes wide right to Comeau -- and continues her own trot to box top arc right. Comeau backs down Dydasco through 12m box right to 10m mid-right, waits for Dougherty Howard to double-team her. Simple pass to Huerta still unmarked at 15m 6-right, Huerta shoots right instep rising across mouth past Bledsoe, into back left high. .@schuerta buries it! E.Johnson lets her go, Comeau passes to Daly at 25m wide right -- held onside by Quinn 3m behind E.Johnson and Church. Daly beats everybody to 5m box right, first cross blocked high by E.Johnson. Daly regathers at 6m mid-right, 1-v-1 on Dydasco. Huerta starts her run from ~arc left, front-cuts Church to 12m right post -- accelerating from a standing start is not Church's strength. Daly sees that, makes a perfect ground pass, Huerta swings one-touch right instep pull across mouth, putts it perfectly just behind left post low, past Bledsoe's dive. Another one — @schuerta strikes again! The @HoustonDash take a 3-0 lead ahead of the final hydration break.#HOUvWAS | #NWSL pic.twitter.com/VWYOR1JS69— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 18, 2018
83' 4-0 Motlhalo passes from midfield mid-left to Daly facing ball at circle top mid-left. Daly taps one-touch square right to Simon at circle top arc left -- meanwhile, Latsko begins her sprint-run up wide left, already behind RB Eubanks (held onside by watching Dydasco across the field) -- and Daly blows past Quinn's back as Quinn turns inside to face Simon. Simon one-touch inside-out pass to arc top wide left, perfectly in Latsko's stride. Latsko one-touch slow rolling cross to Daly at 15m mid-left, E.Johnson steps up to her -- nobody has Simon cruising through arc top left post. Daly stutter-steps like the beagle on the treadmill, dummies ball through her legs, it continues to 9m left post. E.Johnson can only spin and watch without another step, Simon arrives and chips right instep across mouth into 3/4 right back high. Wow, this run-and-gun offense from Houston is kind of fun to watch. The dummy from @RachelDaly3, the finish from @KyahSimon. The @HoustonDash are having a night at home!#HOUvWAS | #NWSL pic.twitter.com/4DGcImwHDZ— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 18, 2018 FT 4-0. Houston's practices must be a hoot: when she touches here, you sprint there -- then you have this passing lane --, and ten players nod
The way Ohai looked at Daly after the goal was priceless! You would actually expect that kind of look more from your lover in the bedroom, than from the team-mate that you just assisted for a goal... Lol, this kind of sentences are the reason why your comments are unmissable. Ok, a win vs Spirit was expected from Dash, but it looks like this way they're fully in the run for the play-off race. This season it is really quite exciting, if you think about about it. Even assuming that Seattle Reign are already in, you have 5 teams still fighting for 2 spots, with 3 remaining games (4 for a pair of them)!
A couple of those goals looked a lot like the NC courage on the move. So fun to watch. There should be a stat tracked for great Dummys leading directly to goals. I really think Daly deserves an assist on Simon's goal.
