34' 1-0 Colaprico right ck, to 9m left post. Short outjumps Hatch, pikes a header to left post low. Dougherty Howard is holding that post, is distracted by Naughton lunging in from her right, swings a foot to poke ball away. Ball bounces off left post low, off Dougherty Howard's right calf, and in along left bottom pipe.

Technically, that's an own-goal off Dougherty Howard, since Short's header was on frame, which (by definition) is not on goal. But it's credited to Short.

60' 2-0 High ball drops to Chicago's circle back box left, Colaprico survives a bump-challenge that knocks T.Smith over. Colaprico counters to midfield box left, passes to Kerr at circle top left. Church is stranded that high up, lunges toward Kerr but gets beat by a one-touch poke -- and Kerr is loose sprinting down wide left, outpacing Quinn down box left to 7m. Vasconcelos runs near-post, Mautz lurks at 12m 6-right, Nagasato trails through arc top up centerline. Kerr crosses to 9m center, Nagasato dive-heads in front of Dydasco, minor deflection off Dydasco's shoulder (or forearm?), into back left edge.

Very brave to play the trap line that high ... against Kerr :coffee:

Just got back from the Red Stars vs Washington game and we as CRS fans are very happy. The team looked good, they looked cohesive, organized and motivated. It rained early so the field was wet and ball was skipping especially in the first half.

For the first time in many games we as fans felt confident that after going up 2-0 the Red Stars would hold on and win. Normally we're waiting for the hammer to drop and expecting for the opposition to score two goals to tie and then score the winning goal in extra time, like has happened before. But not today.

Brooke Elby looks good folks and the CRS fans took notice immediately. We are glad she is in Chicago and like her a lot. Great pick-up Rory!

Asked Rose Lavelle yesterday after the game how she is feeling and she said good.
She was in uniform but did not play.
