I’m surprised those pictures of me taking bong hits by the casino pool are still on the web, too Turns out it all stays there forever.
Everything put on the internet is usually there forever, but it *is* somewhat surprising for a site to still be up if no one has been paying to keep the domain up! Oftentimes, domains will expire unless they're renewed periodically.

https://www.nwslsoccer.com/news/article/angel-city-ready-to-fly-with-birdies LOS ANGELES (March 2, 2021) – Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced Birdies, a female-founded, direct-to-consumer footwear brand, as the team’s founding sleeve sponsor. “The natural alignment between ACFC and Birdies was crystal clear the minute we met co-founders Bianca Gates and Marisa Sharkey,” said Julie Uhrman, ACFC Founder and President. “The fact that we are their first sports sponsorship is not lost on us. For a company like Birdies to recognize the value of our platform and how we can affect change together, is unique and exciting.” As the team’s exclusive sleeve patch partner, Birdies’ logo will be positioned on the right shoulder of the official kit. It will appear on home and away jerseys, all authentic and replica first-team jerseys available to consumers, and any special edition first-team jerseys. This summer, the team’s colors, crest, kit, and logoed merchandise will be revealed, while the exclusive ACFC x Birdies shoe collaboration will be released in Spring 2022.
Sorry about the double post above. Today, I see Ashley Nick is on the KC 32-player roster as a non-roster invitee. I hope she makes the team. What an interesting soccer career! If she ever writes a memoir, I would like to read it – she must have stories! Here is an article about her from 2020: https://journal.worldwomenssoccer.com/?p=122 YearsTeamAppsGls 2005-2009USC--2010-2012FC Twente3732012-2013 Arna-Bjørnar 712013Pali Blues1582013-2014Sky Blue FC2512013(loan) Zorky Krasnogorsk 8-2015Western NY Flash13-2015-2016 Apollon Limassol 652016Sky Blue FC3-2018-2019Juventus7- Other links to her record: https://fbref.com/en/players/eec1bf4f/Ashley-Nick https://globalsportsarchive.com/people/soccer/ashley-nick/355094/ I can’t find anything after Juventus in 2019, except this from the worldwomenssoccer.com article: I have found myself back in California working with a foundation called ISAW SOCCER (incredible soccer association of women) which helps grow the game, provides professional environments for women’s pros the whole year through, and gives people young and old role models in the Southern California community to be inspired by. I currently was one of the first women to play for Del Piero’s LA10 semi pro men’s team here in Southern California, what a challenge! Still playing and excited what team is next!

Don't worry about that: I see @59Amerinorsk liked that content so much that he actually repped both posts!
Credit to @MRAD12 for sharing this article in the Chicago forum, but there was an interesting nugget in there that I thought merited some general news discussion: https://www.forbes.com/sites/howard...ace-nwsls-new-ownership-boom/?sh=808f2e3708bb I remember back when the league started that the Spirit owner mentioned a break-even point of 3-3.5k, so between the higher-profile venues and the increase in salaries since then, I guess a 5k number totally makes sense. And the good news is that if 5k is what most teams need to break even and 5k attendances were common in 2019, then many teams are in a position for upward motion - which is probably why people are starting to buy into the large "ownership groups". (Related note: a recent article on EQZ mentioned that the Spirit's 19k game at Audi netted them around $600k - one game paid their entire roster for the year. That's pretty insane! Think of the money they could start throwing around if they got four games per year above 15k attendance...)
The Reign have been clear that they want a 12k stadium. OL has talked 18k+. The difficult baseball stadium we now have to go to is 7.5k and sold out all post WC games in 2019 with many turned away. The 5k number comes from the unlikely public-private project that has been briefly discussed by the Tacoma city council.
What Reign Man said. Also, if 5k is the break-even number, that's a reason to NOT want a 5k stadium, because then you're artificially limiting yourself to breaking even at best.
And, just to add, 5k is not going to be the clubs break even point for long.. Player salaries had better be increasing so players can make a good living playing for a single club without a side hussle. Not to mention it is going to get more expensive to acquire players in the future as clubs in the big European leagues start to take the women's game seriously.

6000 minimum. Could make more money as an overnight stocker than this. Even the current minimum, overnight stockers would make more.
With increased sponsorships, higher TV ratings and now a lot of names attached to ownership groups, player's salaries need to go up soon. 40kmin/$75kmax.
The extra names added to *some* ownership groups aren't going to affect league-wide salaries, as the league won't want to risk seeing teams that don't have those groups get spent into the red by teams who do. Also, the TV deal and the sponsorships are mostly continuations from last year. That's why this year's salaries are a bit higher but not much more so (and why 2020 was much higher than 2019). With those in mind, we're only going to see a steady, paced increase in salaries; we won't see another large jump until there's a reneg of the TV deal and/or a reneg of league-wide sponsorships and/or there's a massive new influx of cash not already here.
....you've got to be joking, right? You do know that NWSL players are salaried, not hourly? Besides, they only play for 9 of the 12 months of the year, I don't think a $15/hr minimum would improve the league mandated minimum anyway. =edit= Yeah, 0.75 x ($15/hr x 40hr/wk x 50wk) = $22,500
