Anyone hear any news about Nunez yet? It's been a few weeks since that rumor came about and I was wondering if there was any truth to it at all other than Nunez saying he'd like to play for the Burn? 3rd, has Jefferies or any of the staff-players stated anything about the possible signing and if so are negotiations under way. If I understand correctly he was released by the Mexican club, but there's a question as to which club owns his rights. Thanks for any info.

The last I heard, MLS is looking to aquire Nuñez on loan from Nacional. Presumably Dallas would use a discovery allocation to obtain Nuñez if MLS is able to work out a deal.

Does it concern anyone else that Tyson has been a bust for his last three teams? Pachuca, the EPL team he was with (Sunderland?) and his last stint in Honduras?

Sure he has flashed some style against the USMNT, but how good can he be if he is stuck on Pacucha's bench?

Is there something about his situation I dont know?

Jeffries has stated there is some interest.

Talks are going on, last I heard, between MLS (in NY) and Nunez... Unfortiunatly this a complicated deal, as there are questions about who actally ows his rights.

I am afraid we will just have to wait and see.

Yes it concerns me that he has been a bust in his last couple of seasons. But perhaps a change of location to the states where he can live comfortably and still be near some of the immigrants of his country will lead him to be motivated and refreshed.

Very worried, Pete. Waht else can the Burn do? Someone has to score goals besides Kreis. That leaves an unproven EJ, Rhine, who is good for a couple of good games a year and useless the rest, and Cerritos, coming off an injury and a poor year. He may be past it.

Sure, a lot of players will contribute a goal or a few, but the team will need more than that, you will agree. And, while some teams have had to shed top players, others have gotten stronger. The Burn has stood still.

It is imperative for the Burn to get a striker. Wheather it is Nunez, or one of the others in camp, the team needs someone who can start scoring right away. Without that player, an off year from Kreis means the Burn miss the playoffs.

But, since Nunez has been a bust three times in a row now, he should not be getting a high salary. A lower one with incentives would be correct and if he doesn't like it, then forget him.

Insert "Donovan" in place of Kreis in that statement, and you have our predicament in SJ. With Derosario, Mullan and Ching.....no matter how much of a bust Nunez is, He looks like Henry compared to what we have.

Hopefully none of this will matter because EJ will start scoring goals on a regualr basis this season. Of course he has to get a lot of minutes to do that and starting would certainly help.
