    Does anyone know the traditional numbering system for jerseys? This is what I have so far:

    GK=1
    RB=2
    RCB=4
    LCB=6
    LB=3
    RM=7
    RCM=5
    LCM=10
    LM=11
    RF=9
    LF=8

    I think it depends what formation you are playing.

    Here is what I used till 1997 playing a man defense in a 4-4-2 stopper/sweeper.

    Lf 11
    RF10
    LWM 9
    RWM 8
    OM 7
    DM 6
    Stopper 5
    RWB 4
    LWB 3
    Sweeper 2
    GK

    -----------

    I gave out shirts before match and collected them after the match.

    Starters are Keeper to 11. becaue you started in one game their was no guarantee you would be a starter in the next game.

    To start in the next game it depended on how you did in the last game, and this weeks practice. You might not start in the next game. "Your only as good as your last game."

    The subs always felt they had a chance to start. Keeps everyone on their toes that way.

    Kid on the winning Mexican super under 19 team at the Dallas Cup had 107 as his number. Yes, your reading this right 107.

    Of these traditional positional numbers, you also have to take into account the number ten shirt is given to the "playmaker" and the number nine shirt is given to the best striker on the team.

    I'm not sure where I remember seeing this, but there was a forward that wore 1+8 because he felt he was deserving of the number nine shirt than the current holder.
