Celtic was behind 1-0 and scored twice in extra time 90+2 and 90+7 to snatch to win from the claws of defeat.

Trusty and Celtic may have saved their season with a winning goal at the very end, 2-1 over Livingston. Trusty played the full match.

Welp, And that's how it ends, folks.

At 4-1 to Stuttgart and the return leg on the the Thursday before the Old Firm, this is likely the end of their EL run, maybe the title challenge too.

Go all out in Stuttgart and they're likely to fall short and face Rangers exhausted and carrying injures/heavy knocks. Play percentages and focus on the league, a tame exit will do wonders for morale ahead of a 6-pointer . . .

If he turns either around, O'Neill will (deservedly) cement his Celtic legend status

Watching the extended highlights of the game and it doesn't make pretty viewing from a Celtic perspective. They really were 2nd best throughout.

The Guardian has a nice line that summarizes it well.
It is just as well Martin O’Neill wanted no celebration of his 1,000th game in professional management. Stuttgart’s visit became men versus Bhoys and a deflating scene for anybody of Celtic persuasion.

A red card in the Old Firm is the minimum required for legend status :D

He should have kept this one for next weekend

Celtic lost 2-1 and with Rangers drawing at Livingstone, it's advantage Heats in the title race.

Celtic do have a game in hand, which should reduce the gap to 3 points but with the Old Firm derby up next and both teams a long way from vintage edition status, I doubt anyone would be surprised if that one ends in a draw,

When was the last time a neither of Celtic or Rangers won the league?

Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen in 1984-85 and Hearts haven't won the title since 1959-60.

Hibs last title was in 1951-52 and Dundee's sole title was in 1982-83. To be fair to SP fans, Kilmarmock won one title as well, so the league isn't as predictable as people say. They won theirs in 1964-65  .

As a lifetime chair of the ABOF (AnyBody but the Old Firm) movement, to paraphrase Kevin Keegan, "I would love it! Love it!" if Hearts were to win it this season. :speechless:

Would be amazing if Hearts pull it off.

Celtic and Rangers economic advantage is absolutely enormous in the SPL.

Second time’s a charm? Trusty didn’t have the first red card a few weeks ago overturned after an appeal. Not a lot of confidence this one will be overturned despite this also being iffy.

Trusty starts! (alongside Murray, not Scales, and with Sinasalo in goal). Celtic visiting Stuttgart, Celtic trailing 4-1 on aggregate.

Massive Old Firm derby coming up this weekend, and it might be one of the biggest in recent memory. It looks like Martin O'Neill is prioritizing the league match, so this tie against Stuttgart features a mix of starters and reserves. MON isn't phoning it in per se but he's definitely sending a clear message of what's more important. Can't say I disagree. Nice to see Schmeichel out and Sinisalo in.

    1-0 Celtic

Celtic started strong with McCowan scoring in the 2nd minute. Adamu slipped in a nice ball to McCowan after receiving a pass from the right flank. McCowan takes a touch, open his body, and slots the ball into the far left corner of the net.

    FT 1-0 Celtic

Bounced from EL on the 4-2 aggregate. But some positives, first European victory on German soil with a mixed lineup. Celtic fought hard and a deserved victory despite two second half goals disallowed, rightfully, for Stuttgart. Solid performance and a couple of players Sinisalo, McCowan, Murray and Adamu may have played their way into contention for the Old Firm this weekend. As for Trusty, he was solid. Defended calmly and made some key blocks, clearances, and interceptions and was near flawless in his passing. He and Dane Murray looked a good pairing. Onto the Old Firm Derby.... massive match!

Unfortunately, Trusty’s red card appeal was denied and he’s sitting out the huge Old Firm Derby @ Ibrox today. In the 10th minute Rangers go up 1-0. Ugh. I got up at 5A for this…..

No. It’s called stupidity and obsession. Down 2-0 at HT. I should have stayed a sleep. This season just sucks and all Celtic diehards saw this coming.

Finished 2-2, a bad result for Celtic and a poor result for Rangers.

It's very good news for Hearts. They really might win the title.

    FT 2–2.

Unreal. A complete tale of two halves. Celtic somehow rescue a huge point. O’Neill was ice‑cold when everything looked lost — tweaked things at the break, trusted his bench, and every change paid off. There’s a reason MON is a legend! The point may keep some very slim title hopes alive. A loss would have been the nail in the coffin. I still don’t trust hearts down the stretch. Is it enough to blow the title race? I don’t know…… I just think the gap will close a little bit.

Anyways… Rangers were furious at full time, and the tension spilled over into a few scuffles. Yank Julian Araujo was the target. I can see why,… we disrupted play after play in the 2nd half. He was brilliant. Araujo has a little edge Celtic has needed. I’d love to get him on a permanent deal.
