Mr Shepherd said Newcastle were continuing to explore ways to increase their revenues, including trying to get a Newcastle United-backed club to play in the Hong Kong league, a project they have been working on for a few years.

And he refused to rule out a Magpies visit to Dubai as another means of raising the Tynesiders' marketing profile around the world.

Mr Shepherd also confirmed Newcastle would tour the US next year, to coincide with the release of the football film Goal!, which was filmed at St James's Park.

Maybe if you had posted it in the Newcastle forum at 8am, instead of another forum, you could have gotten some credit.

    Thx,

    Jay!

So I wonder what cities and/or MLS teams NUFC will play ??
Obvisouly Adidas sponsored MLS teams get first crack.

    DC United
    Colombus Crew
    Denver Rapids
    Kansas City Wizards ( maybe)
    FC Dallas
    Real Salt Lake City
    Chivas USA (LA)
    San Jose Earthquakes

NY Metrostars, LA Galaxy, Chicago Fire, and Boston Revolution are not Adidas until 2006.

Would this be part of the Champions World Series? I'm hoping they play a game at RFK (relatively easy trip for me), but I don't think Champions World Series has ever had a game in DC.

AC Milan played Barcelona in DC 2 years ago.

I am inclined to think that Adidas teams in Europe will not be part of Champions League, but part of the SUM tour which will play MLS teams and stadiums.

    But that's all speculation anyway.
