The only amazing thing is that it took that long.

He's gone and will never come back under any name. So don't bother asking.

I'm not that happy at some people who post in the forum after what was said in a thread, which has been deleted.

A thread was started and then deleted. The people, one person in particular know who they are.

The board is staying the same and will do for as long as I mod it.

Some sort of parade, like the Russians had on May Day.

And two Rick B's would cause confusion.

Short and Sweet (as possible). Played soccer (yes, another yank) as a kid, or rather until I could play with the pigskin. I always enjoyed soccer, but it wasn't until the '94 world cup that may imagination was captured. Shortly after, the US played England in a friendly at Wembley. The US announcers were on and on about Shearer (Which at the time was rather annoying) but basically I was amazed at the respect they showed the guy, Leadership, Class, athleticism. I remembered.

Fast forward 7 or 8 years, sorry I'm old and can't remember exact dates. I needed to get into shape, again, and I had avenue to play in an old man's soccer league. I had no skills as it had been... ehhmmm.... several years since I had played. I detest being made a fool of on a field, so my teacher became The Prem. I became obsessed, so I had to pick a team that I supported. Manchester United was always on the television but I ain't a bandwagon fan. I tried out Liverpool as my first but they won the double that year, so they were quickly deposed. Next I chose Tottenham (before keller's arrival) but they were boring under Hoddle. A new season approached, and Shearer appeared from a lengthy absence due to his knee problems. Simple arithmetic followed...'94 friendly (See Shearer)....mid table team...attractive soccer...and thus a Toon Fan was born.

PS. I won't post much, I've been a lurker for a few years, but I had a question that I'll pose on another thread. And here is to MON as the next manger (My guantlet has been thrown.)

    Hello, All,
I'm an old fart, have been playing since soccer came to America in the '70s, still playing today, and coaching my kids' recreation and travel teams for Highland SC in Scotia, NY. I'll have to post more later, as Global Football just came on the telly (a man has to have his proirities). Always a Shearer fan, to the end!

Because newcastle online is the journals website and the journal is a rag.

The Journal may be crap, but I do like the Evening Chronicle.

You know, is it mere coincidence that anytime the Sun runs a Newcastle story, that it is almost verbatim what is written by Alan Oliver.

The Ronny Gill is the only paper i trust for newcastle stories. Alan Oliver knows everyone at Newcastle and if he rights it you know its true.
