It is the Division 1 league here in North Texas.
I guess one could say it is one level below D3 and PDL. They can and do play in US Open Cup. While amature, it's a pretty nice level of soccer, some former pros and college players.

When PDL teams come into town to play Texas Spurs, the Burn are going to try and get a game with them (example Lake Charles this Sunday). But when Spurs are on road the Burn will play one of there teams to get game time for their reserves.

Well, it is actually a recreational league. It does have teams that participate in tournament play, but it doesn't offically fall into the family tree of USSF soccer in the manner of PDL or D3.

It is though the largest men's amatuer soccer league in the country. It features 13 Open divisions, 5 Over30, 4 Over40, and an Over50 division.

Over 200 teams and about 2000+ players. It regularly has a team represented in both the amatuer cup national finals and the Over30 national finals...

There are currently three Inferno teams that play in the league: Inferno FC in Div.3, Inferno II in Div 10, and Inferno XXX in Over 30D....

Actually, I've been following the USASA side of the Open Cup for a number of years, and I don't remember any representative from North Texas. South Texas has been in the Div III tournament a few times (won it last year), but I've never seen a North Texas team.

They're certainly eligible, and I expect they enter the Amateur Cup (a lot more teams enter that one).

Last North Texas team I remember hearing about in the Open Cup was Richardson Rockets. They were in the USISL at the time, but entered the Open Cup as an amateur team and lost in the final. This was a few years before MLS even existed.

I may not have all those details exactly right, but I think they're pretty close.
