There are similar threads like this on the Juventus and Roma boards. I thought since we're in the offseason and not much is happening, this could bring some activity to the board. All you have to do is answer these questions:

How did get into AC Milan? List your football background.
Tell us where you are from.
How many matches do you see a year?
Have you been to the San Siro?
How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
And any other things Milan related that you can think of???

I was brought up in a soccer-loving family. My dad is actually a Romanista but when I started watching soccer around 6 years old, I was attracted to Milan's red-and black jerseys. That's how I started liking them and been a "Rossonero per Sempre" ever since. My uncle is an Interista, so it's pretty fun when derby time comes around, and last year, me and my dad had a bet on who would win the scudetto (2-horse race between Roma and Milan) and I won.

Tell us where you are from.
My parents moved to New York from Southern Italy, and I currently reside in Queens, New York. I have been to Italy so many times and I'm an Italian citizen.

How many matches do you see a year?
I watch Serie A every weekend on RAI International, so I see Milan's results every week.

Have you been to the San Siro?
No, but it is one of my dreams.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
I have 4. I have one from 96-97 with Baggio and the number 18 on the back, I have the home jersey from the 98-99 16th Scudetto season, I have the 2002-2003 home jersey from the Champion's League winning season, and I have last year's away jersey with Gattuso on the back.

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???
Nothing really but Forza Milan and Inchinati al Diavolo!

Time spent in Italy, adopted them as my team. Huge fan of the play style and the players throughout the years. I honestly can't support any other team, it's Milan and only Milan.

Tell us where you are from.
    I live in NYC now.

How many matches do you see a year?
GolTV covers a fair portion of the games, and I'll try to look online for those that aren't aired. I would say I watch 80-90% of the matches.

Have you been to the San Siro?
Yes, a number of times. It's quite incredible, I maybe biased but I would say the best stadium in Europe.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
Nesta '04-05 jersey and a Maldini '03-05 jersey. I have a few knockoffs (Baggio) that I got when I was in Italy as well, but I don't count them.

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???
Milan is a beautiful city, if you are visiting Italy you would be a moron not to go there. Inter Milan fans are deluded morons in general, and if you see them in the city, keep a distance away.

    1. Played soccer in HS, but never really watched it. I got into watching it during WC '94. From there I became a fan of Maldini and a casual fan of Milan. Took a trip to Italy to see family in Milan, took in a match at San Siro (they defeated Lazio, 2-0) and never looked back. Have been back to San Siro a few times over the years. All my trips to Italy are planned around seeing Milan.

    2. Born and raised in California, currently living in San Francisco. SF, is about the only city in California where you can watch Serie A live in a cafe.

    3. As many as possible, not enough.

    4. Yes

    5. A few, most are Maldini

    6. Named my son Paolo.

I'm 20, played soccer since I was a toddler. In 1992 (I think) I watched a Milan - Inter game on Scola, the european channel, and instantly I was drawn to their passing and skill. I didnt know any players at the time, and they ended up losing that game. Been a fan ever since. Started really following them in high school in 2000

Tell us where you are from.

Im from Colorado Springs, and go to school in Chicago at Northwestern

How many matches do you see a year?

I watch every CL game on ESPN2, i have champions league pass, and I dont know how to watch games other than that. I didnt have cable at school because they dont have it in the dorms so I couldnt have fox sports world or any specialty channel.

Have you been to the San Siro?

No, but im going next season. I am living in Switzerland and will make more than one trip to the San Siro.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?

I own one knock off and one real one. Real one: 1994 no name, with 'lo scudetto.' Still fits me too (I bought it a tad big...)

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???

I cant wait to be there this season.

My first real memories of soccer(I have vague memories of WC 1986) are of Italia 1990. I really liked both Italy and Agentina in that tournament. With Claudio Caniggia my favorite player. Well, I needed more calcio and since Caniggia and the whole Italian national team played in Serie A I found my league. They used to show the hour long Serie A highlights show on Sports Channel Philly back in the day. I was hooked. Since Caniggia played for Atalanta back then they were my fave club(they still hold a soft spot in my heart). But as I watched Serie A more and more it was hard not to like Milan. And eventually I became a rossoneri through and through.

For the second straight year I have seen all of Milan's matches in the CL and Serie A. We are living in the golden era of soccer TV coverage in the US :)

Have you been to the San Siro?
    Not yet.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
I own 5. I'm sorta superstitious about getting a players' name on my kit. I feel if I do they will be sold or injured the next day. So I only own one shirt with a name on the back(Van Basten 9). I also own the '99 centennial, 2002/2003 home and away, and a retro '60s Milan shirt, all no name on the back.

Got into soccer through the game Winning Eleven 6. Since there was no soccer coverage in the US , I would watch soccer games on Yahoo Soccerpass, and all they would show was serie A teams. I found i liked AC Milan the most and i my love for them grew stronger with each game. I almost cried when Sheva missed that PK

Between Soccerpass and GOLTV, probably 3/4's of the matches.

I have to get to Italy first...

04-05 home Shevchenko jersey. My all time favorite player in the whole entire universe times 1 million.

After USA 94 I was obsessed with international soccer. When I first started watching soccer on tv I was just catching matches here and there on ESPN tuesday mornings back in 95-96. They showed la Liga and I loved Luis Figo but supported Real Madrid strangely. I loved Spanish football. I think one day I was looking up soccer in the dictionary (hahaha) and read that the "soccer capitol of the world was Milan", I was intrigued. Not one but two of the greatest teams in the world played there. Somehow, from playing soccer video games like FIFA 96 I grew to love playing as Milan (and Manchester United. Cantona was dominant) and their colors. So I started to try and follow them starting from 97. They weren't so great then. In 98 they won the scudetto! Fox Sports World showed Italian soccer then and I fell in love. I can still remember watching Milan Juventus when Boban assisted Weah and they ran hand in hand to the corner flag, it was the greatest celebration I've seen. I've loved Milan ever since.[IMG]

I've played soccer since I was six, always was the short black kid amongst all the suburban white kids. The only lil chocolate face in the team photo all the way up until high school. I remained short and fast with a hard shot up until my junior year in high school. Then I grew about 9 inches. Now I'm huge, basically. Because soccer in America is a money sport where you have to pay a lot of cash to play travel or know someone to get into ODP, I missed out on a lot of opportunities to play at a higher level. My high school coach was such a goon he never even encouraged us to play travel, I didn't know what it was until junior year. Didn't know what ODP was till senior year and played that. Now I play at a NAIA college from my home town here in Indiana. I'm terribly unfit. I could have been good. . . right. :p

I only have one Milan jersey, a friend of mine picked it up for me in the Czech Rep. Its a cheap knock off Shevchenko jersey that I use to dry dishes and wipe off counters. I *heart* it. I had another friend buy me some jerseys from Spain and Italy while he was there with the military but he got me an INTER JERSEY!!! I wasn't mad, its authentic. Plus I got an authentic Barcelona away jersey with Riquelme on the back, how sweet is that?

The season before this one I watched every single Milan game, and the season before that as well. This season I only got maybe 20 games because I unsubscribed to Dish Network. Now I have comcast and goltv again so...

Never been to Italy. Going to World Cup next season though. I'll make it to San Siro eventually.

I plan on owning a black lab in the future which I will name Weah.

I watch as many as are on GOLTV. And I spend time writing nasty emails to ESPN asking why they are Chelsea's network during the Champions League.

Have you been to the San Siro?
I haven't been yet, but am going to Italy next spring. May try and work in a stop.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
I have 03-04 Home and Champions League kits. I see there is a new kit for next year. A friend is going to Milan in September and I have placed an order with him.

It will be odd to see Vieri in the black and red.

I have always played as a defender and so appreciate watching a great defense. It just so happened that the first professional game I ever saw was the Milan-Barca CL final from 1994. I think witnessing that game alone would turn anyone into a Milanista but for me it was the display of Desailly in particular that I found tremendous. This was a team I wanted to watch, admire, and learn from!

I watch RAI, Fox Soccer Channel, Gol TV, ESPN2, and Fox Sports en Espanol. Between them I'm able to see Milan play several times a year both in Serie A and in the CL. Apart from watching Milan, I get to see innumerable games throughout the year. You can never watch enough soccer.

Have you been to the San Siro?

Sadly, no. I have plans in the works to visit it twice this fall (to whet my appetite for the World Cup which I'm attending in 2006).

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?

I own two. One I purchased in 1995 which has the Motta sponsorship in white lettering on the front. The second is an autographed Franco Baresi jersey that I picked up from the Milan Point in Milano (didn't have time to make it to the stadium but at least I hit up Milan Point...).

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???
I love Milan's commitment to a sound defense and the players they have turned out over the years have been some of the best of all-time. In spite of this, my favourite Milanista is Dejan Savicevic. They didn't call him il genio for nothing.

How did you get into AC Milan?
My kids both played with my son being the more committed (club & high school). He got into Milan about 5 years ago and I found myself getting reinterested. I had spent time in Southern Switzerland (Ticino) working in Chiasso which is about 50 km from Milan, and followed them then.

Tell us where you are from.
My parents are from Locarno, Switzerland. Moved to US 55 years ago. We currently live in the Salinas area of California.

How many matches do you see a year?
We watch all Serie A games on GolTV. I also follow some matches on the net.

Have you been to San Siro?
We visited my family in June/ July 2004 and a friend I worked with took us to Milan. We went on the stadium tour. Haven't seen a match though.

    How many Milan kits?
We have the last 5 years of jerseys as weel as a couple of practice jerseys.
Also picked up a Rui Costa jersey at the San Siro store.

    Other Milan related?
On our trip we also visited Milanello which is very close (10 miles) from my frien's home. Again it was the off season and didn't see anyone.

Yikes I'm a little late for this thread :S

How did get into AC Milan? List your football background.
Going right to the source it be my fathers obsession with the club rubbing right on me. It was a gradual transition from taking an interest in international football which eventually lead to Serie A.

Naturally I was interested in Italian football as my father was born in Italy and moved to Canada in 1979, although he was a Milan supporter through and through my attraction to Milan came after my infatuation with several Serie A players namely Batigol and Baggio. On the pitch I tried to emulate both but it was a little difficult especially when your coach plays you as a fullback :(

It was something about these two players and their ability to characterize elements of the game that I adored; like on one hand you had a guy who could smash his way through defenses with power and determination, and on the other was a player identified by his finess and grace.

Coupled with the baseball strike in 94 and my disdain for hockey made me appreciate Italian football, not to mention they employed the players that I admired most made it even better, it was clear to me then that my father's favourite club competed in the best league in the world. Milan was his team and so it is also mine.

Tell us where you are from.

    T-dot

Have you been to the San Siro?

Unfortunatley although I've been to Italy over half a dozen times, in those trips I have never laid a foot in Milan. Its a shame but I don't regret the great times I've had in Italy, I would't trade it for the world.

There's plenty of time to see the San Siro cause I'm still young.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?

Amazingly I don't own a single Milan jersey. Not that I don't want one its just that I've never taken the time to "seach" for the jerseys while staying in Abruzzi. Most of the time they never had the names or numbers plus the fact that I was never really sure if they were official or not, mostly cause I never trusted the vendors :p

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???
If anyone is planning on attending a live CL match in the San Siro let me know and I'll get my plane ticket.

    Preferably in December.

How did get into AC Milan? List your football background.

When I started playing for the Intermediate team (7th-8th grade), there were a couple of guys named Baresi, Donadoni and Maldini on the squad. I couldn't watch many games in Hawaii, but I read a lot about them in magazines ... and pretty much, that's how I've come to love the Rossoneri.

I started playing footy when I was 7 and I pretty much played it all the way through High School (2-3 seasons a year at that point). Played club soccer throughout Uni. ... now I'm looking for a team in The OC to play for. Played Central Defense throughout high school (I'm short but got mad hops, mark well and am very good about never letting the ball drop) ... but move to the outside now when there are taller, equally skilled defenders.

Born and raised in Hawaii ...

Have you been to the San Siro?

I wish. Someday ... maybe I can talk my fiance into having a honeymoon in Milan ... hehehe ... during a CL match or a Milan Derby ...

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?

'04/'05 Home (Maldini), '05/'06 Away (Sheva), a generic home shirt with no number bought in Bangkok, a fake Kaka bought in Rome (figures) ... plus tons of hats, t-shirts, scarves and other various Milan gear.

After watching the 94 world cup. My two favorite players from that cup were maldini and dunga. I started to gain more insight into maldini and what I soon learned was that Maldini was synonomous with milan. I've been a fan of milan ever since.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
Just one, the 04-05 season kit with maldini on the back. I bought this in some store in rome and the guy who sold it to me was trying to convince me to buy an Adriano(Inter) jersey instead. I told him in my best italian that I despise Inter and that Adriano blows(not really..he's a great player at the wrong club). ;) Oh and I own a cheap replica milan kaka jersey which I use to play pickup games.

I am something of an Italo-phile as my grandparents are originally from LeMarche (Fano and Ostra Vetere). Followed the Azzurri for years and began with Milan initially from following Berlusconi. It was sealed when I finally got to see them play live!

Have you been to the San Siro?
Yes! But only once back in October 2001. Saw a 1-1 draw with Venezia with a goal by Shevchenko (if I remember correctly). Entering the stadium after walking up the the outer walkway and hearing/seeing the Ultras in person gave me goosebumps. Hoping to return soon...

Milan is a great city with fantastic people. It was the first place I visited on my first trip to Italy and will remain a unique place to me. Now if I can only get my brother to stop following that other team from Milan...

I was the classic American sports fan until the 02WC. I thought soccer was boring, and weak, and never gave it any thought. I knew Pele, and that was it. Then in 02, the US' run got me to watch some games, and I really fell in love with the game. At first the way the clubs worked and such confused to heck out of me...(I was used to the way US sports worked). I quickly got into the sport hardcore and and Milan was the team I bonded to. I had this old Van Basten figurine in the Rossonero stripes, so I found out more about him and the team, and Milan quickly became my club. As for playing football. I played in High School for 2 years. After High School I was the Assistant Coach of a boys varsity and a girls varsity High School team. I also coached an Indoor team to a local Championship, and I coached a middle school team this Spring.

Usually one a week or every other week. Now that Fox Soccer Channel get Serie A, and tr and catch that, but being a busy college student, I usually just catch reruns of Permiership games.

No, but I hope to in the next few years! I did see Milan/Man U at Giants Stadium in 04.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?

How did get into AC Milan? List your football background.
Played soccer since I was 3. Started to get into international soccer when I saw a game on SCOLA (AC Milan vs Inter Milan; 0-1) but i enjoyed the way Milan played and quickly chose to root for them to tie the game (which they did not)

Tell us where you are from.
Colorado Springs, CO, but go to school in Chicago during the school year

How many matches do you see a year?
I skip class to watch the afternoon CL games when shown on ESPN. I have FSC to watch highlight shows and EPL games as well as UEFA cup. And I have UEFA CL pass to watch the other games a day later.

Have you been to the San Siro?
Yes, but not on a game day.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
3... all home jerseys (no name)
    1- 1998
2- fake 2000 (my sister bought it for me while in milan)
    3- 2005-06 (authentic)

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???
I lived with an Italian girl this school year while studying abroad in Switzerland and I wish the fans in Italy would stop complaining that Milan is owned by Berlusconi. She was Milan fan from birth who stopped watching Milan when she started caring more about politics. I had to convince her that soccer is about more than a Prime Minister's social policies and programs and got her to watch a game and root for Milan with me again.

I've played soccer since I was a little kid, like most children in the US. I've been a fan of the Brazilian national side since USA94 (The first game I remember is ironically the final with Italy where Baggio missed the penalty). I saw the first half of the 04-05 CL final between Milan and Liverpool and was amazed at how well they played. I liked a couple of different teams until I heard 'Rossoneri Siamo Noi' being sung in a cafe in Boston during a CL match between Milan and Lyon, and since then its been only Milan.

A small near-coastal town in Florida.

How many matches do you see a year?
Very few. I don't get any special soccer-only channels, so I'm relying on ESPN's coverage of the Champions League. Unfortunately, the first game I saw was Milan vs Liverpool in the '05 Final. I must have some bad luck for first games.

Have you been to the San Siro?
No, but hopefully I'll get to Europe within the next few years.

How many Milan kits do you own? Which ones?
    1: 2005-06 KAKA' Third.

And any other things Milan related that you can think of???
Noi odiamo la Juve, but it'll be nice when we get Zambrotta and Buffon.

    1. honestly, I don't know the progression, they just eventually became my team. I know it sounds stupid, but whatever.

    2. I am from jacksonville, FL, but have lived in chicago for about a year after going to school in durham, NC (go duke lacrosse, way to make a triumphant return)

    3. i watch most on peer to peer online viewing links, unless they are playing lazio or torino or someone like that in which case I will watch them on fsc

    4. nope, unfortunately not

    5. In my old closet in jax are the soccer jerseys that I could find in stores, like ronaldo's brazil jersey or henry's arsenal jersey; I'm not a big kit/jersey even for "american" sports, so i don't look too hard for them or online
