Victims efforts to stop the extradition legally were not sufficient. Rumor mill says his extradition seeks to prevent him from further implicating high level political and military figures, as he had in interviews with the transitional justice court. https://t.co/XpWvPioFAz— Renata Segura (@renaticas) May 5, 2022

I can’t even believe the Presidency of #Colombia tried to show they’re doing something about the paramilitary “armed strike” by showing a video of 23 soldiers piling into 6 trucks. They could take 6 taxis. https://t.co/KxcNhD5MW7— Adam Isacson (@adam_wola) May 9, 2022

In regions like Catatumbo, parts of Cauca, or Choco, which are completely controlled by paramilitary forces, there is no petty theft for example, because the "justice" imposed by armed groups is brutalBut that "security" comes at a terrible terrible costhttps://t.co/f4eCvpbpJH— Joshua Collins (@InvisiblesMuros) May 11, 2022

Just terrifying temperament to even be considering putting in the seat given the powderkeg that Colombia faces.
Haha Trump or a Communist love how the guy who should have won is now like full on for trump. honestly Colombia needs a dictator to get rid of the guerilla and do a shit ton of human rights violations to get it to stop being such a dangerous place for no fking reason. or a president who will just legalize everything and hopefully make us a 1st world country by making cocaine legal seriously fk white people and Europe. Those a holes ruin poorer countries then have the balls to be like hey selling drugs is bad. Stealing is bad but hey we won’t give you back any of the gold our people stole from your country.
Seriously? There's only one guerrilla left and most of the violence now seems to emanate mostly from groups with links with paramilitaries and the army. And in a lot of ways Colombia has been a dictatorship for decades, with killing or disappearing of people for the benefit of the elites, few real voting choices, and a repressive culture that kills the popular uprisings. The problem is that legalizing drugs in Colombia won't affect what happens in other countries, meaning that the drug traffic will still be illegal and controlled by criminals internationally. Yes, we need to push up for decriminalization at the international level, but also, we need a government that provides its citizens with the economical tools to not depend on growing illicit drugs. Raising the life standards for our population and creating ways for people in the country side to earn a living selling food and other legal products to the cities and to export them. That's hardly the job of a dictator.
if Cocaine was made in the US/France/England/Germany... it would be legal internationally. Booze and cigerettes are so bad for people. Now weed is legal for the most part all over the US. It's all BS. We have a product that can make us a 1st world country use it. Who cares if some dickheads think its bad to sell. Oil is bad to take out of the earth and to burn..... people still sell it Government should just take control of these operations and sell it themselves. Decriminalize everything and export it. Regardless Colombia needs to have actual laws. How long is the Guerrilla going to be active. Just kill all those FKrs. Have the international community give you a slap on the wrist. Now the Paramilitaries... cool... get rid of them too. I assume by your comment you think Uribe is a dictator? Since basically his party been in power forever.
Great idea, become a Narco-nation the official way!!! Have you consider the consequences of this at the international level? I just told you, there's only one guerrilla left and the others were done, after negotiations, it was impossible to subdue them by force. Do you understand that paramilitaries have the support of the government and some economic and politic sectors? Finally got one right. Yeah, the same elites that turned the country into a battlefield in the 1940s and 1950s, then formed an alliance in the 1960s to keep the power to themselves, are the same ones behind the governments in the 21st century. Every candidate with a real chance that didn't belong to the cadre, was exterminated. Uribe was probably the worst wannabe dictator, because he tried to stay in power one way or another.
