I voted for Perth Glory. They were a bit unfortunate not to win the minor premiership (and would have won it had that player not been deemed ineligible in the Paramatta game!). Still, maybe I should not have voted for Glory in this poll because they have lost the Grand Final twice, and at home in front of 40,000+ crowds to boot! It is also unfortunate that one of the biggest success stories in Australian soccer history faces having to cut players' pay, if not release them outright. I hope that they will be around for a long time to come. They have captivated a city the way I only wish my MetroStars could here in New York!

Getting to Sydney Olympic, being Greek myself I should be rooting for them. But I have the same dilemma that Aussie soccer has: I am torn between my ethnicity and a team that could break the barriers that have held soccer down in Australia (i.e. the ethnicity) and give the game a proper place in the Aussie sporting landscape. Now Glory will play Northern Spirit - its Sydney counterpart. I use the word "counterpart" as it was formed using the Glory model, but it has not done quite as well as the Glory has. Anyway, I hope to see Glory win, but I won't be sad to see Olympic win either. BTW, I have been in the Perth Glory Supporters' Club sporadically for the past few years. I'll join up again next season as I did not renew for this year.

I'd like to see newcastle win but we are still struggling with injuries, and now news that much of the squad is not to be resigned.

I think the final will again be oympic and perth. Of the remaining four I think parramatta is the only team with a real chance.

I AM A FANATICAL GLORY FAN!!! I try to attend as many home games as possible. so far i saw the last 6 home games of the regualr season (another 7 not in a row) AND ALL seni final games (3 so far) I went to the 2 grand finals in 2000 and 2002 and i was VERY upset. I had a sore throat and couldn't speak for days and i was heart broken. I shed many a tear those two days but i really think that Glory will once again get to the final and WIN the big one! Maybe because they didn't win the premiership they might win the championship! who knows? But i will be there for sure! GO FOR GLORY!!!!

Parramatta absolutely outclassed the strong Perth unit at Parramatta and I believe that it will be a Perth v Parramatta or Perth v Olympic

at the start of the championship series I believd that Newcastle would put on a show and put up a fight but they aren't doing too well. I want any team other than Olympic to get in but I want Glory to win :p

We're the Glory and we're singing, 'cause our story must be told
We sing 'Glory! Come on Glory! Glory Boys, give us a goal!'
Our game's a great tradition, let the future now unfold
    As the Glory marches on!!!

    Glory, Glory Perth Glory!
    Glory, Glory Perth Glory!
    Glory, Glory Perth Glory!
    Our boys are marching on!!!

I too am a Glory fan, though I am from the U.S.A. and have never been to Perth. I read about them in World Soccer magazine and have been fascinated at how they have been able to generate support from "mainstream" Australians and are far and away the most popular soccer team in Oz. I hope to see them take it all this year. I fear for next year, though, as I heard that they will have to tighten their belts and let some players go. I hope that this doesn't mean trouble because they have been able to do what no other Aussie soccer club has been able to do: become a force in a country that worships Aussie Rules, both codes of rugby, and cricket.

Well I am now serious considering buying a season pass as it is much cheaper that paying at the gate all the time and I love the atmosphere!!! It is so electric! As you may be aware Perth Glory is a neutral club that is not ethnic based and is the only team representing Perth in the NSL (APL in 2005) so there are a lot of Poms, Scotts, Greeks, Italians, Macos, Ozzies, Asians... U NAME IT they all back the glory boys and I haven't missed a championship home fixture yet! Although not as big as European stadiums and not the same amount of noise as them we have our glorious hill who chant, rant and get up to no good and heckle the ref and the opposition!
