Has anyone played this game? I have played past versions but this years version of the MLS was just horrible. Can anyone say if it has been improved? Is it even worth trying to play in the MLS?

I can gurantee you will be addicted. The game is real deep, and you prolly won't go back to FIFA. I am awaiting PES before I make my final choice on the best soccer game this season...

I'm on '07 - I can't bear to leave my Tottenham team! Since I got it last summer, I've played for almost 10 days total.

Best soccer game ever. It's so detailed and complex. The database of teams and players is HUGE too.

I've played the '08 demo which was okay. It helps if you're knowledgeable of the players on the team because it's very in depth. I'm saddened to hear that the MLS sucks. My advice is to download a demo before you buy it. I was going to buy it, but then I DLed a demo and now I probably won't. :(

I've had the '08 version for a month or two. It's like digitized crack. Very addictive. I find the MLS portion to be better than previous versions, but it is still pretty flawed. There is no DP slot, no alocations, teams don't *really* hold rights to free agent players, so they're ridiculously easy to poach, and every time a manager gets fired (even in glam cities like L.A. or New York) Clavijo gets serious consideration for the position. I find managing European clubs to be a more realistic experience, and it's far more challenging. Even so, it's really well worth the money, provided that you're not married and the game puts you out $40 plus the $75,000 that the average divorce costs.

I'm playing it right now. :)

It is the best version yet. Awesome game, totally adictive. Yes, MLS has a lot of bugs in it, but I usually play in Europe anyway.

    I know :D

Hey - aren't you able to play kind of a turned based game with people via internet? Maybe we could set up a league of Rapids Freaks??

I'm pretty sure it was World of Warcraft. Asians are obsessed with that game.

yeah i usually play in europe too, but always try to give some love
    to the MLS too, lol
but this version of it is just...horrible.
you almost have to suspend belief in order to get through the
MLS in this version. At least it was that way when i first got the game
when it came out in Oct.
back to 07 i guess if i want to play the MLS.

Closest thing I can think of is www.hattrick.org

Definitely one of my biggest addictions - and totally worldwide. Fun game.
