NRC: What the Revs Need to be Doing!

    Doesn't the Revs have some sort of partnership with Benfica.

    C'mon, Monty - don't you remember:

    • Benfica President gets his grandson Tony Frias III on the Revs bench
    • Revolution/Kraft Soccer get a deal on concrete for the building of then CMGI Field

    I heard something about they where "working on a partnership with Benfica" that’s it. I think the Euro clubs are really more PR then anything really. What you want to look for is clubs that have a track record of developing top level players. The point is not that we are going to get the next Brazil superstar anytime soon, but that these clubs produce many good players but not all of them are going to see a lot of playing time with there club or be sold to Europe. It seams to me that main reason a Brazilian club would want to partner with an MLS club with be to sell off players like that.
