Do you think that Rev fans should tell US Soccer that if you fire the coach and some management, things get better!!
That’s proper form, though sometimes learning a result this way can be a mercy rather than a spoiler....
Jay Berhalter is still the guy running the operation. He spent a year after Bruce resigned before hiring Earnie and his brother. He only ever interviewed Earnie for the GM position, only interviewed 2 coaches (and onoy seriously considered 1). Heck, Earnie's position was created to make it seem less like Jay was picking his favorites. Jay Berhalter is the Mike Burns of the USSF. Oh, also they booted Sunil only to hire Cordeiro, who was Sunil's 2nd hand. The USSF have not cleared out management.
So you're saying that if only CONCACAF had crazy rules about discovery players where you could bilk another team out of $50,000 if you put in a last-minute claim on a guy someone else was going to call up, then he might have a tiny bit of usefulness?
Oh really? Tell that to the guy I met in a bar back in the day when Copa America was on, and he wondered why Tampa Bay would have "traded" Carlos Valderrama to Colombia...
Who would have thought that a home game against Canada (Fri Nov 15th in Orlando) would be the most important game to date of the Berhalter era? Anything less than revenge win over Canada is unacceptable, say United States November 12, 2019 12:47PM EST Austin David
According to Ernie Stewart Berhalter's job is not evaluated based on whether or not he wins these games. What a rotten fed
What do you want him to do, undercut his coach? I think it would be ridiculous to assume that performance is not critical in every showing for the NT. OTOH, I'm sure that comes with the understanding that some matches are used more for developmental purposes than others, but performance/progress matters. We are now on our 3rd coach in a short period of time - it's critical that we don't create the perception that the USNT coaching job is a revolving door, or that the USSF won't give coaches the time/resources to be successful. So, of course Stewart is going to publicly evoke a stance of patience and stability. That doesn't mean that's what it is behind closed doors.
I think it was absurd that it took a full year to hire Gregg I think it is absurd that in 1 year on the job Gregg has ignored his obligation to fully vet the entire player pool at his disposal And I think it is absurd that the standards for performance by the USSF are so low that after being on the job for a full year that the team he has tailored to his exact design continues to be unable to perform. Its like when the Revs had Freidel. The team looks lifeless, like his instruftions are making the players worse, and that the results on the field are suffering for it. Like with Freidel I forsee the only cure being replacing an over his head manager with one who is qualified to do the job he has been prescribed to do
I don't disagree with any on that. I was hoping they'd hire Martino - why do they keep avoiding coaches who have had success in the WC?
Because the last time they hired a coach who had been successful at a WC he publicly criticized the way the fed wanted to run the team because of how backwards the USSF is.

What a great game to watch. Damn, the poor ref had a tough job, between offensive chants, crap thrown on the field, dirty play, diving, 2 VAR's for pen's, red card to a coach, and general whining from both sides. Thought he got most of it right. The two second yellows that he let slide were both questionable -- I thought Mexico's could have been reviewed for straight red on Herrera, who was subbed about two minutes later. I also thought Guardado threw a full on punch during the kerfuffle near the end of the second extra session (didn't connect) -- the one where the Mexican guy got hit by the water bottle. Final note. Not sure about the Mile High security, but it didn't seem like nearly enough "fans" were ejected for throwing stuff.
