Ticket prices were out of control (as is pretty much anything at AT&T). I'd expect the same.

Yeah, I forgot to include the horrible layout at PacB&T Park for anything rectangular.

Which group is sponsoring it? Is it the SF Giants and if so don't they need the Quakes (USSF/FIFA) permission to host international soccer matches? I remember at one time there was a rule that only clubs who had the rights could sponsor matches. Not sure if its changed though....

Why would the Giants need the Quakes permission to host a match at AT&T Park?

It's probably US Soccer permission. Mexico needs it whenever they play here. They also pay US Soccer I think.

Everton says that they are playing a match in SF against ? on Tuesday, July 30th as part of the International Champions Cup: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/05/25/everton-to-head-stateside.

Is this a match in addition to the July 31st match (doubleheader?) on the SF Giants website? Is there a date discrepency? Organizers of the tournament promise details and ticketing information on Wednesday, May 29th.

It requires USSF sanctioning, as all games involving foreign teams do, and the USSF will take a cut o the gate (9% if both teams are foreign, 5.25% if one team is foreign). It has nothing to do with the Quakes. To sponsor a game, you must either be a club member of US Soccer or go through a FIFA-recognized match agent.

Don't know. Juve isn't what I'd classify as a "weak" team. Everton maybe, but then they do have Tim Howard which should make them more of a draw than they otherwise would be.

If the tickets aren't too expensive, I'll go see Everton play Juventus. Could be worse, Phoenix has to watch Real Madrid hopefully slaughter the Galaxatives. At least up here we get to see 2 international teams.

Last time I watched a soccer game there was when I went to see taking on HD. I pledged to never pay to watch a soccer game at the AT&T Park. Terrible experience.

Any thoughts on the best of the 'cheap' seats for soccer at AT&T? Orange and red sections are the cheapest. Purple and pink $20 more.

Judging from the one time I watched a match from behind an endline, (USA-Cost Rica, PG&E Park, Ramos scored the game winner), Sec 137 is probably the best spot, but mainly, they all look miserable...

Wonder if GK Tim Howard will play the whole game or will they use his backup?
