Before going to bed tonight, turn your clocks and watches back one hour. You'll gain an extra hour of sleep (or whatever), though it'll be darker earlier in the evening for the next few months. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Never made that big of a difference in Santa Clara, but here in the frozen tundra? It's devastating...
“With clocks about to ‘fall back’ an hour, data reveal Bay Area’s most sleepless neighborhoods” (San Jose Mercury News - Saturday, 11/2/24) "I always hear a lot of the gunshots, a lot of music playing, side shows, and lots of other stuff like that at night and even midnight every day,” says Michael Jones, who lives in the 94621 zip code in Oakland, Calif., on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2024. According to data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the 94621 zip code faces poor sleep quality due to the highest percentage of short sleep duration, 41.2%, in the Bay Area. Thanks @Goodsport! I pretty much depend on you to tell me that it's time to set my clocks back. I always forget this, even though I always think about it around Halloween. I'm not yanking your chain at all on this. So, clocks back tonight. Got it. Thanks much. And we really need to stop doing this. Just get rid of "daylight savings time." I mean, it's a dumb idea. Go Quakesfans!!
Someone told me they initially started setting clocks back for the farmers because they needed more daylight. My grandfather told me they did it in Europe for WW2 so I guess it’s been going on (worldwide)for a while.
