"A New Fox Soccer Report" (New York Times - Thursday, 7/26/12) Come September, no more Michelle Lissel, Bobby McMahon, etc. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I was a fan of the show, but there is definitely room for improvement. Hopefully it means more MLS coverage.
Comcast still doesn't carry it in HD in my area....I've called/email and each time get a generic response about it available in the future but they never say when... Hopefully the production quality of the new show will be better. Hopefully McMahon will get hired.
It apparently now turns out that today (Monday, 8/13/12) will be Bobby McMahon's last appearance on Fox Soccer Report and that the last episode of Fox Soccer Report will air this coming Thursday, 8/16/12, to be replaced with Fox Soccer News the following day. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I stopped watching the show several years ago. First, it was only a 30 minute show (repeated twice to get an hour). Secondly, it started to promote too much the EPL games. Lastly, I know this will be shocking, but I was started to OD on soccer (between three kids playing soccer, Quakes games, US internationl, EPL, La Liga, Seria A, etc.) However, I did really like Bobby McMahon, but not enough to keep watching.
Today was Asa Rehman's final day on the show. Tomorrow: as it turns out, Bobby McMahon will apparently return one last time alongside Michelle Lissel and Eoin O'Callaghan for tomorrow's final show. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Hopefully they'll take a ceremonial Sledge-O-Matic to that janky set. The weird two half-hour segment format, mostly repeated, won't be missed either. Wonder where BM will end up? How about the Earthquakes broadcast booth? (Imagine head-exploding sensory overload: BM + Rocket Ray)
That set in Winnipeg won't likely be needed anymore anyway since the new show will reportedly be broadcast from Toronto. With Dick Vitale added in for good measure. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Is he there until the end of the month? I just saw him again on Friday breaking down the EPL upcoming season.
He's definitely part of the new show Fox Soccer News (which is located in Toronto, as opposed to Winnipeg where Fox Soccer Report was located), but I'm not sure if he'll be there for only Mondays and Fridays like on the old show or whether he'll be there everyday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Fox Soccer News is way better than the Report and they showed highlights of every MLS game today as well. So nice to have a highlights show in HD.
It certainly is nice having highlights in HD. However, hopefully new co-anchors Brendan Dunlop and Kara Lang can become more comfortable in front of the camera (co-anchor Bobby McMahon seems fine, though). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
OK, Well...I had no clue there was gonna be a big turnover on the show and first thing I noticed was other than Bobby, the new anchor has rockstar hair (annoying) and is quite young (lending some lack of credibility in my opinion) but as far as EVERY MLS highlight I sat through "all" of them and never saw the Chicago Fire highlights and I sure didn't get up and go anywhere. I hate the set and the new chick is pretty horrible. Bobby even seems a bit uncomfortable. Where did Eoin O'Callahan go? Him I liked... Oh well...the times they are a changin' I guess.
The new people will get the hang of it. They were already noticeably improved yesterday. I miss O'Callahan but not enough to outweigh the horrible production on the Fox Report Report. HD highlights makes all the difference. I didn't notice that they missed Chicago highlights but it seemed like they had every MLS game other than that then. They also had a "best of the week" highlight clip with the best plays from leagues around the world, and 3 or 4 MLS highlights made the reel.
