Yet two more soccer channels launch today at 4:30pm PDT: beIN Sport USA and beIN Sport en Español, with the former now the new TV broadcasting home of announcers Phil Schoen and Ray Hudson. For DirecTV subscribers with the Sports Pack, beIN Sport USA will be on channel 620 (in both SD and HD) with GolTV moved to channel 627 (in both SD and HD), while those with the Spanish-language package will have beIN Sport en Español on channel 426 (in SD only) with GolTV moved to channel 456 (in both SD and HD). The first live game broadcast is between Ecuador and Chile. Welcome back, Phil and Ray! GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Word has it that Terri Leigh (who was a co-anchor on FOX Soccer's Fox Soccer Report from 2008 to 2010) will join the channel within the next few weeks. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
So GolTV lost Hudson? I figured this was a replacement for GolTV, but instead its a new channel? Is it the Al-JAzeera soccer/sports channel? (the one that won rights to La Liga?)
Both Hudson and Schoen, apparently back in May or June. That's why the announcing of recent GolTV games such as the Brazil-Argentina friendly, the U.S. Open Cup final and today's Brazil-Sweden friendly sounded so different. It's indeed a new channel. There's a rumor that GolTV may cease at the end of this month. Hopefully it's not true. It is. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I finally convinced my girl to give up her tivo... we officially switched to DirecTV yesterday... so freaking awesome... FSC HD, GolTV HD, and BeIN HD... SUCK IT COMCAST!
that wasn't the issue... the issue is we own a tivo premiere with lifetime service and it only works on comcast, it doesn't work on directv. I had to convince her to give that up. the directv tivo you speak of is a different product (and it was inferior as soon as it came out)... it doesn't have whole-home dvr option (ie I can pause upstairs and go watch same program downstairs while I'm cooking dinner). tivo sucks and comcast really sucks!
I'm trying to figure out who will be airing the Serie A matches? I know FSC dropped them as did the Italian RAI TV network....
Do you know what chnl its on on Comcast Digital cable in the Bay area and if its offered and for how much? I keep trying to call them but they seem to be always closed and the one guy I tried to ask couldn't speak English all that well.....
Are you referring to Phil Schoen and Ray Hudson, particularly about the following broadcast from several years ago? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I'm not sure, though I know that beIN Sport USA was added to the DirecTV Sport Pack which I was paying for anyway, so for me it just ended up as a "free" added channel. I'd imagine that it'll be similar with Comcast, hopefully sooner rather than later. That's unfortunately happened way too many times. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
the real question is will comcast add the HD version of BeIN or the SD version? I would bet it's the SD version.
I'm not sure, but if he did, he certainly didn't clean Phil Schoen's pool after that broadcast. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
"Soccer network beIN Sport to televise all US road qualifiers" (MLSsoccer.com - Wednesday, 8/22/12) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Is there still a realistic chance that Comcast will add the channel before the U.S.'s visit to Jamaica on Friday, September 7th? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
No kidding! A high price was charged for the U.S.-Guatemala game for very poor coverage. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
