OKC FC has been getting between 500 - 800, with the Tulsa game pulling in ~1000, and the game they played at Yukon getting 1200 - 1300
Gorge FC were 2-0 up on Inter United at HT. A unjust sending off for Gorge FC helped Inter united come back and get a 2-2 draw in front of about 50 spectators. So Gorge FC finish bottom of the conference with Inter Untied in 3rd spot, Seattle Sporting in 2nd and Portland Spartans in top spot.
I have a very (very) few data points for NPSL attendance this season, and welcome any additions from any location. Tulsa - 3,439 average (3 games, missing 2) Detroit - 2,816 average (5 games) Chattanooga - 2,156 average (3 games, missing 1) Buffalo - 750 average (2 games, missing 2)
ya Weather has killed us (chattanooga) this year, one week the game didnt start until 930pm because of Tstorms, obviously a lot of the familes didnt stick around
Not NPSL related but could not find a PDL blog... does anybody know what happened to El Paso Patriots? They were not in PDL this year... Did they fold? I was there a couple of years ago (they were still Chivas El Paso), watched a game vs Laredo Heat, there was a really good crowd, some 1800 folks or so, which is amazing for PDL...
Yes, they went away after a long, long stay in the PDL. BTW, this would be the best place to talk about the PDL.
I mentioned it throughout the tread but for Gorge FC 350-250-150-100- missed the game but at a guess 75- 50 so averaging about 165. Too low but expected. Small town for this level of competition. Owner still seems confident. Results did start to improve towards the end of the season.
Thank you. I will make an attempt - as I did last off-season - to get individual teams to send me numbers if they have them. We'll see what we can come up with.
Corinthians FC SA have defeated the Joplin Demize tonight in San Antonio by a score of 3-0, meaning next Saturday's playoff games at Tulsa Athletics Stadium will be Oklahoma City FC (North #2) vs Corinthians FC SA (South #1) at 4:30 and Tulsa Athletics (North #1) vs Dallas City FC (South #2) at 7:30. Winners will meet on Sunday for the final.
The BCS Clash were bad. Really. Bad. They gave up over 100 goals in just 10 games. But I suppose the silver lining is they stayed in business and played all their game (*cough *cough, Pensacola *cough).
http://newenglandforce.us/News.asp?org=newenglandforce.us#514544 The New England Force Reserve Team will be joining the NPSL.
The one that supposedly has joined the ASL, but is not actually, you know, scheduled to play any ASL games in the fall season upcoming.
The Force are the best team in New England and the only team that can draw over 250 people a game other then the Revs. lol
Lansing United, in their first season, in 7 homes game averaged right around 1030 in attendance in a stadium that seats 800. It has been a very successful first season for Lansing and they host the playoffs tonight and tomorrow.
Rumours/hopeful expectations that Vancouver Victory would move from the Evergreen Premier league too the NPSL Northwest. Nothing public but with Spartans calling themselves Portland Spartans now, Vancouver is open market. It would probably mean less travel for the Victory, Easier qualification for the US Open Cup. But im not sure is it even a good idea. The Evergreen Premier League seems to be well run and the expansion fee aint small.
Just the opposite is possible. Victory owners discussing whether or not Gorge FC might be admitted into EPLWA. Gorge FC is listening. Right now EPLWA has no expansion plans, but is willing to let in an Oregon side so close to the WA border at some point. Victory are very happy with financials of playing in EPLWA.
Anything is possible. However I was on the phone with Barrett Goddard, who owns the Victory, just a few days ago. He seemed thrilled with his current league then.
