It's not that there are no published standards, its more that these standards either aren't strictly enforced or simply aren't stringent enough. The fact that the ANSL is 'sanctioned' (heck, even the NPSL has a mountain of standards issues) shows that just publishing standards isn't enough. They exist, but are not backed enough to make them real or true to many clubs. As for Boca... Skwara has always seemed like an interesting character. In sort of the typical minor league soccer team owner kind of way.
What about the Flash? How are they hanging? I live nowhere near them, so I don't attend their matches, but I always thought they were a better organization. I'm intrigued about a new team. I wonder where they would play? Balboa is nice and close to me, but not very accesible.
Why didn't anyone tell me about Electric City Shock? Theres a rule somewhere in the BS Terms of Service I am sure... Sounds like a lot of fun for next year.
probably because they're old news! will be great to have a team in the Scranton area, especially with teams in Bing., Allentown, Hershey, Pocono's.
Full disclosure, I am originally from NEPA, and I have tried to bring pro/semi/non-pro soccer to Scranton on many occasions with zero results. Glad someone is making head way. I guess it helps to actually stay in the area. Here were the jersey's we made up for our last "team" Anyway just some fun. I wonder where their home venue will end up. Last time I tried, several of the best venues were very expensive or not even willing to negotiate. This includes Moosic Baseball park, Scranton Memorial Stadium and University of Scranton's soccer field.
Which I don't understand. Is there even seats/bleachers there for fans? https://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&q=marywood soccer field pennsylvania&fb=1&gl=us&hq=marywood soccer field pennsylvania&cid=0,0,10208428652713959923&ei=6ZXCUcGJEeWgigLYrICIAw&ved=0CI0BEPwSMAQ
Word is that they may try and play the rest of the season on the road just to finish out the season. Would definitely be unfortunate if they couldn't get through the last couple games somehow.
http://parlorcityfootball.com/2013/06/23/oc-pateadores-forced-to-forfeit-remaining-matches/ so, doesn't look like they're absolutely folding. forfeiting the rest of their games and re-grouping. close to folding probably, but not quote done yet...
Electric City plans on using Fitzpatrick Field at the University of Scranton as their home venue next year. Great location, not so great turf field (too narrow) but it will help w/ exposure.
Here's a Charlottian head-scratcher for your perusal... http://www.slideshare.net/StevenBayley/qcsc-pitch-deck-24846474
First and foremost, he's put a good 20 minutes into that crest. The scary thing is, it's probably more of a business plan than some people have.
Without more clubs in Oregon/Washington it seems unfeasible but it would be my local team and i would get a season ticket
