NPSL is proud to announce that Ozark Futbol Club (Springdale, AR) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the South Region. “It’s exciting to see our league continue to grow and expand,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “Ozark FC will certainly help grow our league’s footprint in Arkansas. Our fans and supporters in the region should be thrilled by this addition.” Ozark FC is led by Co-Owner Will Broyles and Director Dacia Boehmler. Boehmler has a long-standing history of success in the world of marketing and retail development in Northwest Arkansas. She has a passion for the area that is unparalleled and saw the potential to bring more sports to the community, particularly a sport that really resonates with so many people. “We anticipate fielding a strong team with a lot of area talent in one of the strongest conferences in our league,” Broyles added. “Our club will operate with the goal of making NW Arkansas a soccer powerhouse by building on the excellent development clubs’ work in the area. There’s not a single place in the USA with as much going for it as NWA, and it should absolutely have its rightful place near the top of the sport of soccer.” More information about the club can be found at www.ozarkfc.com or by following the club on Facebook (@OzarkFC), Twitter (@OzarkFC), and Instagram (@NWASoccer). “There was so much interest from many of us who had participated in other NPSL clubs, that we knew it made sense to keep working to develop the sport through this tremendous avenue the league offers,” Broyles concluded. “This league has a bright future and OFC and NW Arkansas belong in that same growing movement.”
How similar is this to the Marcos-era USL back in the day? Handing out teams to anyone with a 3-slide powerpoint presentation and MS Paint logo without providing any assistance to try to retain teams for a second year.
Only because I like you @kenntomasch, I have to bring this up... If we keep adding teams how are we going to get a schedule in January?!?!
When does the NPSL schedule usually come out? Seems to me they do it regionally, not all at once, right? As for Marcos' USL, they certainly expanded haphazardly, but I don't recall many teams being announced in late January to play that season, nor do I remember 20-30 expansion teams in an offseason.
The schedules tend to come out conference by conference, usually not until late Feb or March. Grand Rapids' first application for the NPSL was rejected. OKC FC didn't announce their new PDL club until mid February 2013. Tulsa Athletic didn't sign their first lease on Drillers Stadium until March 2013 for a May 2013 start.
wow...gotta say that Adair being involved in the NPSL really captured my attention: NPSL is proud to announce that Beaches FC (Jupiter, FL) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will compete in the South Region’s Sunshine Conference. “Beaches FC is a great addition to one of our most competitive conferences,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “As an organization they bring a lot to the table and we are excited to have them as part of the NPSL. This is a big day for our fans and supporters in Florida.” BFC is led by Trevor Adair and Levent Guler. Adair is the former men’s head coach at Brown University and Clemson University. He had an impressive 57 players drafted in 14 years at Clemson, winning two ACC championships. Adair has also been a staff instructor and scout for U.S. Soccer for nearly 30 years. He holds a USSF “A” license. Guler is a former national team player for Turkey and has appeared in 312 professional games over a 12-year playing career. He currently holds a USSF “B” license and coaches at West Boca Raton High School. “We bring a high level of players, coaches, and facilities to the NPSL,” Adair noted. “We hope to continue to promote a high level of soccer for amateur players during the non-collegiate season.” Home matches will be played at Benjamin Upper School. The facility offers a FieldTurf playing surface, four locker rooms, and seating for 1,000 fans. Beaches FC was formed to provide college soccer players the opportunity to get professional coaching during the summer months of their college offseason. NPSL Soccer Coming to Pierce County, Washington Pierce County, Washington will soon be getting a new adult men’s soccer team. Plans have been made to bring a National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) team to the area this season with the first games being played in May. Pierce County will be playing in the NPSL’s Northwest Conference, which includes teams in Seattle, WA (Seattle OSA FC), Bremerton, WA (Kitsap Soccer Club), Spokane, WA (Spokane Soccer Club Shadow), and Portland, OR (Portland Spartans). The NPSL occupies the fourth division of the U.S. Soccer pyramid and is the largest national men’s league in the U.S. NPSL players have been placed into all levels of professional soccer, both domestically and internationally. NPSL teams qualify to compete in the U.S. Open Cup, playing against teams from all divisions of U.S. Soccer, in the oldest sports tournament in the U.S. The group taking on this new project is made up of collaboration between College Life Italia and Giuseppe Pezzano. College Life Italia is an American company that specializes in placing Italian sports players in American colleges with academic or sports scholarships. Pezzano brings over 10 years of experience, knowledge, and a vast network of contacts to the new soccer organization thanks to his work in North American and international soccer. He also has two NPSL conference championships with the Seattle OSA FC team under his belt. He has arranged both teams with separate competitive entities while providing invaluable experiences through College Life Italia and for regional players. Together the group will offer players a great team to play for. "We are thankful to be working in collaboration with Giuseppe Pezzano on this project,” College Life Italia CEO Stefano Radio, who will serve as the team’s technical director, commented. “We have seized the opportunity to establish this club to help fill a void and provide valuable playing opportunities at the national level for many young locals and college players. We know how important it is to have more high level adult teams in Washington State. We believe we have joined the premier conference within our region.” The club will implement an Italian style of training and have an Italian coach. The team will work with local players and bring in Italian players, many of whom will already have been playing for colleges in the U.S. This team will be highly focused on the college player. “Through this club we are working to make more soccer available to more players and fans, and by collaborating with local academies we will open up many new opportunities to players,” Radio added. “Another exciting element that this collaboration adds to the strength and growth of the soccer community is that it opens up opportunities for players to go to college throughout the states and play college soccer, or for players to go abroad and study and play. This year College Life successfully placed 80 Italians in college, and our vast network of college contacts can be used to place American students/players that play for the team as well. By playing with our team we will be able to evaluate the player’s skills and level and make contact with our colleges who we know are looking for specific player types." The incoming team will play its home games at various fields throughout Pierce County. “We want this organization to be deeply connected to the community and the greater Pierce County region where our goal is to provide continuing development and opportunities to players to play at a high level and be seen nationally," Radio concluded. “We want our players to get a taste of what the next level of soccer is like and give them something to dream about. It will be an exciting soccer environment. We are going to create something every exciting for everyone who is part of this experience.” Tryouts for the team will begin in February. The team will be announcing their branding, website, and social media information in the coming weeks.

looks to me like the 2016 NPSL semi-finalist Clarkstown is out: http://www.npsl.com/news_article/show/758006-atlantic-conference-alignment-announced-
They seem to have a good plan so far, they even got a former Timbers 2 player. Haven't heard where they will play but they are getting noticed which is a good start.
Clarkstown is in the Keystone Conference, not the atlantic. Have heard nothing about them leaving the NPSL.
FC Hasental@fchasental 19m19 minutes ago @fchasental is taking the 2017 @NPSL Season off to focus on changes that will make our club stronger for the future.
I show 92 teams in the NPSL this year, is that correct? That would be a net gain of eight. I would have to figure out how many folded, because they had a lot more than eight expansion teams.
First the assumption;the Mid-Atlantic conference will be FC Fredrick, Legacy 76, Fredricksburg FC, and Virginia Beach FC. These are the listed teams on the NPSL website, but until I see a schedule, no guarantee. If that is the case, the 2017 NPSL will be 96 teams. Teams that left : ASA Charge Chicago Mustangs FC Hasental Greater Lowell United FC Myrtle Beach Mutiny Nashville FC North County Battalion Real San Jose Richmond Strikers Tobacco Road FC Weston FC Corinthians FC of San Antonio Dallas City FC Tampa Bay Rowdies 2 Carolina Railhawks NPSL Storm FC Indy 11 NPSL Fort Lauderdale Strikers U-23 New Teams: Fort Pitt FC Syracuse Duluth FC Minneapolis City SC Viejos Son Los Trapos FC Dakota Fusion FC Sioux Falls Thunder FC Med City FC Ozark FC Midland-Odessa FC Tyler FC Asheville City SC Inter Nashville FC Napa Valley 1839 FC Oxnard Guerreros FC Orange County FC FC Arizona City of Angels FC Hartford City FC TSF FC Greater Lowell NPSL FC Elm City Express Spokane SC Shadow Kitsap SC Pierce County FC PDX FC West Chester United SC Boca Raton FC Beaches FC Naples United
Oh, you're right. No schedule yet for those four teams, which is so NPSL. I got 92 from the other teams that DO have schedules. Protip: when you put "2017 schedule" on your website, that should be the actual schedule. These are the 92 on the schedule: AFC Ann Arbor AFC Cleveland Albion SC Asheville City Soccer Club Atlanta Silverbacks Beaches FC Birmingham Hammers Boca Raton FC Boston City FC Brooklyn Italians Buxmont Torch CD Aguiluchos USA Chattanooga FC City of Angels FC Clarkstown SC Eagles Dakota Fusion FC Dayton Dynamo Demize NPSL Detroit City FC Duluth FC Dutch Lions FC East Bay FC Stompers Electric City Shock Elm City Express Erie Commodores FC Arizona FC Buffalo FC Carolina Discoveries FC Indiana FC Wichita FCM Portland Fort Pitt Regiment Fort Worth Vaqueros Georgia Revolution Grand Rapids FC Greater Binghamton FC Thunder Greater Lowell NPSL FC Hartford City FC Hershey FC Houston Regals SCA Inter Nashville FC Jacksonville Armada U-23 Junior Lone Star FC Kalamazoo FC Kingston Stockade FC Kitsap Soccer Club Knoxville Force Kraze United Lansing United LC Aris FC Little Rock Rangers Liverpool Warriors Med City FC Memphis City FC Miami Fusion FC Miami United FC Michigan Stars FC Midland-Odessa FC Milwaukee Torrent Minneapolis City SC Minnesota TwinStars Napa Valley 1839 FC Naples United FC New Jersey Copa FC New Orleans Jesters New York Athletic Club New York Cosmos B Orange County FC OSA FC Oxnard Guerreros FC Ozark FC PDX FC Pierce County FC Rhode Island Reds FC Riverside Coras Rochester River Dogz Sacramento Gold Seacoast United Mariners Seacoast United Phantoms Shreveport Rafters FC Sioux Falls Thunder SoCal SC Sonoma County Sol FC Spokane Soccer Club Shadow Sports Club Corinthians USA Syracuse FC Temecula FC TSF FC Tulsa Athletic Tyler FC VSLT FC West Chester United Soccer Club Unless FC Frederick, Fredericksburg FC, Legacy 76 and Virginia Beach City FC are going to just play each other and no one else, they have to be integrated somewhere. No schedule on VBCFC's site, none on Fredericksburg's site. FC Frederick's site has them playing only DC United U23, VA Legacy, Fredericksburg, VA Beach City and Harrisburg City Islanders U23. Odd. But very NPSL.
