This is why you gotta love him (from the post game quote sheet)

On the yellow cards and the upcoming suspension to Ryan Nelsen and Dema Kovalenko:
"It's difficult especially with Ryan. All of this talking about playoff soccer with the yellow cards. You can't find your way with excuses -- it was a hard fight in these two games. We fought to the end and were rewarded with these two beautiful goals. As I said before, it's going to hurt us for sure, but we're going to win the next one and then move on." :)

You have to love a man who has that kind of attitude after losing his Captain to a ************ card!

Damn, I never thought he would come out and say that this season.

Way back before the season even started the Supporters had a meeting with Coach Nowak at the Key Bridge Marriott. I was really struck with his demeanor and his resolve. He had a clear plan of how he wanted this team to play. He really believed in it. Then he got the players to believe in it. It took some time but I think he finally got all of the fans to believe in it.

With all due props to Freddy, it could be a bit of an overstatement. No doubt the kid's got it, but if he was one of the top playmakers in the league, he'd be starting, not closing.

Yeah, it's a bit of hype, but that's a coach talking, always upbeat about his players. Probably, if you asked him publicly about each player, he'd say, "Yeah, ------- is a terrific player." Privately, he's well aware of the player's shortcomings. No doubt that Freddy has been coming on.

I gues I'm just not used to having Piotr make inflated statements (however slightly). The man has the Great Stone Face. When the feed showed successive shots of him and Bradley, if I didn't know better, I'd have thought that Novak was the one who was losing.
