    Believe

Man this sucks. I thought we were playing today and Man United tomorrow. I got up early for nothing!

    Ach well.

Given the form the Red Menace have been in and the lack of form shown by Everton lately I'm not too confident. Earlier in the year Everton were playing really well, deservedly in the top 5, now they're dropping rapidly.

Still we must hope and believe.

Keep the faith boys. Only a win will guarantee Everton European football next season. They have everything to play for.

If, by Saturday, we've won both games and improved our goal difference by 3, the pressure on ManUre will be massive. Rooney could have a couple in the back of the net before they know what's hit em!

I've noticed a trend of Gunners fans counting on other teams to do something INSTEAD of their own team.

Case in point: Counting on Everton to win for you to even have a chance. To recap: Arsenal MUST WINN ALL their remaining games.

That starts with Leeds. Which is anything but a given.

I dont think it will even come down to the Everton Man U game. -Arsenal's form of late will probably show them dropping points in their last 3.

Good call. And thanks to Arsenal for taking the drama out of action at both ends of the table.

    Let's see.

-Treore scores an own goal against the Villans and Arsenal only share a single point.
-Keone scores an own goal and Arsenal drops a sure win
-Cole scores an own goal and hands Leeds the 3 points at Highbury - and ensuring the title goes back to Old Trafford.

The question isnt whether Arsenal will win the FA Cup against Southhampton -

The question is who will score the own goal to hand Southhampton the cup?

(sorry, couldnt help myself sticking the boot in)

ManUre won the title in bizarre fashion, that club in absolute disarray. Who is your keeper, who your playmaker? Where will Barthez and Beckham play next year? What institution will Sir Alex call permanent residence after the next time he kicks a boot at one of his players?

Arsenal blew it, just blew it. Own goals and last minute collapses took the wind from our sails. No fault of Wenger's, I don't think, but the Gunners never seemed desperate.

That said, we'll still take the FA Cup, which means we'll still hold claim to being the champions! The FA Cup is what football's all about, arguably much more a part of what the sport means than the EPL. Only a double champion can truly claim to be the nation's champion.

Sour grapes? Okay, maybe a bit, but the way Ferguson went on about the Champions League being everything, then the way they got their arses beat by Real, wasn't all that impressive.

In terms of this weekend, Charlton's keeper was absolutely inept. In contrast, Leeds played brilliantly, their goals today were nothing short of amazing, albeit like knives to my gut.

Despite all the abuse he's taken, Pizza Parlour is my man for most spirited Gunner of the season. If only the rest played with his verve down the stretch.

Winning the Cup will prove to be sweet consolation.

    Re: Re: Re: I Believe

hmm.. 42 out of 48 points, while Arsenal went from a 13 point lead to 8 point deficit in a 1.5 months. Exactly how are they in "absolute disarray"?

like most teams, United have a few - Barthez, Carrole and Ricardo.
Is Arsenal stuck with only Seaman? what happens when he's hurt or out of form?

a single playmaker? aha - now i see where Arsenal went wrong.... Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Keane, Sylvestre, Solskjaer... you get the idea...

I would think they would still be with United. But in the end - who knows? After reading Arsenal Player comments and the latest team finance reports you might wonder where Pires, Vierra, Bergcamp, Keone and Seaman will be in september.

? Only a gunner would be perplexed. I would imagine with 8 out of 11 titles, he might be staying with United - would you not think??? Or perhaps you think he no longer finds it a challenge? Maybe the reports have it all wrong - it's not Beckham, but Fergie who is Madrid bound :)

I agree. Arsenal did not have the depth to deal with an end-of-year battle. Their defense simply does not have the experience, nor the depth. I do disagree about Wenger's role however.
In the Bolton match, his substitutions were highly suspect. Also I believe he will rue the day he sold Mathew Upson.
Exactly why did he do that again?

counting chickens before they are hatched. Gooners told everyone they would win the title, win europe and the FA cup. In the past few weeks you've failed to beat the bottom half of the table (Leeds, Bolton...) Why would you have such an easy time with SouthHampton? Just another unhatched chicken to count on for the gunners?

And what is that exactly? Play against 2nd division , 3rd divison, and non-league teams up until the last 2 games?

Arsene actually said the exact opposite just last week. He was saying that the League is the most important - and Arsenal needed to be able to be repeat winners in order to be taken seriously. I believe that Lundberg's last interview - he echoed his Manager's sentiments.

What about a team that can win back-to-back-to-back... and take 8 out of 11, and do the Treble?

Arses beat? One bad away game. They had so many chances in the return, and only went out 6-5 in the end - against the world's best team.

How impressive was Arsenal against Valencia, or any of the other teams they failed to beat the 2nd round?

Agreed. showingBut Arsenal have been VERY poor form in the past few months - I still expected a little more fight in their last few games. Leeds deserved the win.

Where Arsenal truly went wrong in NOT taking anything from Liverpool, Everton and New Castle, in their last few away matches while Manchester easily grabbed all away points from them.

Arsenal couldnt afford to drop all those extra 2points each week.

Again, I agree. He seems the only man left with any bottle since Adams retired.

bringing out those unhatched chickens again? didnt you guys do that with Leeds?

See here "Loon" I think I've had just about enough of you this evening.

Were I so inclined I might choose to respond to your posts line by line but I don't feel a person possessing such an obtuse and recalcitrant nature deserves such a courtesy.

So I shall simply say, you sir are a big fat idiot and need to go get a girlfriend to start taking your frustrations out on rather than Arsenal supporters who are already down.

Kicking us while we're down? Class.
