I just saw this too T. I always get the shudders whenever the Blatman gets involved. No doubt he suspects there's some backhanders bouncing around and wonders why he isn't in on it as well.

I just hope that everything is as 'above board' as Eggy and Co have been making out, otherwise we might well be knackered.

    And from SSN:

    http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx...=21&lid=2&title=Fifa+to+investigate+Tevez+row

'West Ham will, though, be relieved to hear Blatter state that according to Fifa files, the transfer of Tevez and Javier Mascherano from Corinthians had complied with international transfer regulations.

"We will monitor this situation very carefully and once this situation is dealt with by the league and the FA we will ask for the files and have a look because we have the right and the responsibility to see how such cases are dealt with.

"The matter is linked with a club in Brazil - Corinthians - and with the ownership of this club and the ownership of the two players.

"According to our files the transfer of Tevez was done correctly according to the international transfer of players." '

    I'm over here!
FIFA sanctioned Mascherano's move to Liverpool. At that point they gave us the all clear, if Mascherano was OK to play for Liverpool then Tevez was OK to play for us.

If they make any decision to the contrary then Liverpool will lose out too.

It would also open a massive can of worms in which we could, quite rightly, claim that Liverpool fielded a weakened team against Fulham allowing them to get the 3 points that saved them.

Does FIFA want to tie the PL up in court with issues that will never be resolved in time for the start of next season?

    I would guess not.

IMHO it's a PR exercise by FIFA - "We've looked at the evidence and studied the ruling by the independent commission and found that the punishment was appropriate in the circumstances." (Now shut up and get on with playing football!)

Hello Sx. Welcome to the melee.

I think it's a bit of a PR exercise as well. FIFA have probably pulled rank on the situation so that they can conclude everything was OK and settle everyone back down.

All the good points we make seem to fall on deaf ears with the people who oppose the decision so I expect they won't accept FIFA's decision either unless it goes their way.

This sounds like he said it before the hearing, which means FIFA always had the intention of investigating the judgement.

Really if Whelan and Co were as interested in the integrity of football as they say they are then they would have gone to FIFA straight after the PL. The fact that they turned straight to legal action shows they are only interested in milking this situation for every penny they can get.

This whole thing has been started and prolonged by greedy chairmen.

Thanks T and Sxboy for those clarifications, I feel much happier now. I'd also like to welcome Sxboy back, wondered what had happened to you!

It makes sense that FIFA want to take a look and try to resolve this, as SXboy says the potential can of worms should anything be changed would only serve to bring more ridicule to the Premier League/English footy.

It should help Wigan and Sheff Utd save on the legal fees too :D

If stupid batter wanted to get involved it would be 3-6 months before they got their act together. I just can't see it as already said its just FIFA looking to be involved to see whats in it for them.
All over Europe players have 3rd party ownership. Its just the EPL that have different registration requirements. Same with work permits, Germany Holland and many countries allow Brazilians and others to play, England they have to internationals usually.

Hey Robbie welcome back how are you?
