This team just won't give up. I have to think some of that energy comes from knowing it is klopps last season
Mac Allister was fantastic. That ball to Nunez was the 3rd or 4th time he played a little ball like that that was nearly a goal. Virgil and Konate were both excellent, as was the goalkeeper. Gomez played 3 different positions today and an insane amount of minutes this week. Elliott has also run himself into the ground this week. I thought Danns made an impact again. After the Cup final I said that it looked like McConnell was being developed in the mold of Mac Allister. Today it looked like Jayden Danns has some Darwin Nunez in him. Some mad moments like headbutting the goal keeper, but made things happen. And then there is Darwin Nunez. Just a shit Andy Carroll who is gonna win us the league.
Klopp said it reminds him of the game at Villa when Robertson and Mane scored. If I remember correctly, that was the game before we smashed City at Anfield and never looked back.
He had some tough moments today but, imagine where we'd be without him. They should give him some kind of award at the end of the season -- the Mr. Utility award perhaps.
Funny, I was going to post about an hour ago re:Imagine Being Us. Can you imagine how City and Arsenal fans must be feeling? Certain that they’d probably go top or at the very least 2nd. Figuring the game was over. Then Nunez! Mind you Kompany against Leicester still causes me to throw up in my mouth pretty much every time I remember it, including now.
hope the players get 1 or 2 days off. Next game is Thursday - early kick in Europe - 5:45pm BST - means traveling out there Wednesday. we really are running on fumes.
Apparently the PGMOL has just issued an apology to Forest after, presumably, Mark Clattenburg had z as word
Speaking of throwing up in my mouth (see my last post above), how much puking is Tierney doing about now, knowing that if indeed he f.ucked up, he f.ucked up so well that he helped Liverpool?
The win at Forest is the fifth time this season that Liverpool have gone in front in the 85th minute or later. That is just in the league. You can add in Virgil van Dijk's 118th-minute winner in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea last week, while they scored twice in the last 10 minutes to beat Arsenal in the FA Cup. wow wow wow
A bit like 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. in 18/19 we got a lot of late goals to keep the pressure on city. In 19/20 our late goals allowed us to pull away and crush the league.
