Usmanov's open letter to the Arsenal board that in no way destabilises or creates conflict at the club. Not all all, niet, nein, non... http://www.scribd.com/fullscreen/99187277?access_key=key-24g66yia942joc3pjdyg
Pathetic if true. Not sure I believe it. Well this letter proves that is not true. Sounds good, not sure I buy it.
It be interesting to see a reply, but we all know that's not coming. As much on the media rag on Arsenal for being Foreign, they never seem to say anything about the all English crooks on the board, old and new... Maybe I should just support a smaller club less politicking, more football.
The club need to circle the wagons today/over the weekend and come out on Monday with a strong statement indicating their intent/vision. The squad is solid, and I was thinking the addition of Podolski, Giroud, and 1-2 others this summer would allow us to challenge for a title next year...but not if the madness continues.
This has been going on since 2005. It is unfair to just blame Gazidis. I think the board is at fault too! Why don't we get Walmart to support us? Let Kronke put his money where is shares are.
Will never happen. American owners don't thrown money at English soccer teams - they throw money at teams in the US that they're fans of.
Not true at all. Roma and Liverpool with top 10 spenders last summer and are owned by Americans. Who cares about being nice? You support a club to watch them win and do well not hold hands and give out hugs. He has a crappy past but he wants to spend, attend matches, and actually see Arsenal succeed. Whats wrong with that?
Because he's using this oppurtunity to cause unrest that will have no positive effect on the club. It's not healthy. It's a power struggle that hurts us
If anything, the letter shows that Usmanov is NOT the type of person we need as the owner of this club.
The point is that we don't really trust Usmanov's motives, and he has no history of team ownership to indicate whether or not he might end up like the Glazers. Kroenke is a known quantity - we won't see cash injections into the club, but we won't see money taken out either: his business tends to be asset appreciation.
he has never owned a club like AFC. He will need to put some cash in. Think of it as keeping up the house and not letting it fall into a state of disrepair.
lol at calling a company for a potential shirt sponsorship only to then find out its owned by Usmanov. What a clown show, lol. The letter does have a lot of good points tho. Still dont trust Usmanov, would rather see some rich Saudi Prince drop some cash on the club.
I don't criticize clubs like City and Chelsea because I am jealous and secrectly wish to be them. I am sincere in buying into how Arsene and Arsenal believe that a club can be run within its own means. I do object that I feel like Arsene runs us too far within our own means but I still don't think the only answer is become that which we dislike.
Anyone else notice how this was done the day after the RvP thing, in which if reports are correct, he's represented by David Dein's son? Convenient, don'tcha think? That said, there are very good points made in that letter in terms of debt, financing, and some people walking away with boatloads of cash.
Worst part of this is now everyone knows that RvP wants to leave on the last year of his contract. I am thinking 10 million is a reasonable offer .
If the reports are true that MegaFon (more than 50% owned by Usmanov) was contacted by Gazidis about sponsorship deal, then shouldn't we be applauding this tactic since it follow suit of sugar-daddy clubs like City? That's not much different than the crazy 400M GBP City is getting for naming rights on a stadium (they don't own) from an airline owned by a the Abu Dhabi government of which Sheik Monsour is a ruling family member. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jul/08/manchester-city-deal-etihad-airways Yes - I'm being sarcastic.
I suspect we're spamming loads of companies, and quite possibly by people outside Arsenal. To be honest the petty attempt to score points by Usmanov is worse in my eyes. The other way of looking at it, is this. If he owes 50% of the company and he's desperate to help Arsenal, why didn't he proactively offer a deal himself ?
