Everything I've read has said DMB to PSV is practically a done deal. but ...... From a Bloomberg news report on thursday: U.S. winger DaMarcus Beasley is set to join Southampton for 1.5 million pounds, rejecting a move to PSV Eindhoven, the Independent said. not sure if that's anything new ....
IIRC the Beasley to PSV deal is for about $2.5 million. If the deal to Southampton is for 1.5 million pounds then it would be higher. Today's exchange rate: 1 British Pound = $1.85 Therefore, 1.5 million pounds = $2.775 million.
lends more credence to the bidding war theory....Keep it up, it's good for the league, good for DMB....
is it typical us players or what ? ...last time Reyna did to Fulham before joining the Man City, hopefuly DMB won't do that.
Jerking a team around and stiffing them to sign for a later better deal? Happens all over the world and US players do it too.... You know ,like divng
Beasley goes for 4 years to psv.... at least that's what I read on this board. any links???? anyone know for sure??
I love the "dismay" that people affect in regard players "jerking around" soccer teams. Like Ajax never sniffed Bease's butt and then left him hanging when Sikora came available. The list of players jacked by management is longer than the Illiad. Soccer teams don't have feelings. They are business/sports/entertainment entities. Unless you really, really screw one big arse guy, like Sir Alf, a team that loves you wed. will likely still love you thursday if your form is holding up.
Thank you. What's wrong with people? It's about business, not feelings. MLS - Did the right thing...any semi competent businessman/entity would. McBride - Did the right thing...any person is going to look out for the best deal for themselves and their family. DMB - if he does have some choice to make (between PSV & SH) he will do the same. Even if it is at the last second. It is that simple. It really is folks. Get over it.
Of course not, but as far as I know he hasn't signed anything yet. McBride, for all the talk of him going to Rovers, had signed nothing. Souness had even announced McBride was coming, but he hadn't actually signed. Actually everyone's favourite rag, The Sun, just had an article that Fulham were looking to sign Andy Cole, with McBride possibly going the other way. Makes a little sense, but it is The Sun. Interesting.
Usually, but not always true. Talk to Mr. Saha. You see contracts talked about around here like they're between Mr. Faust and pointy eared red guy. Even cursed on-line? Could be violating a TOS. Bounced a check? Check your bank agreement. I work with companies that break contracts all the time, as a matter of course. It is actually part of their business plan. There are remedies and costs for breaking contracts, but they a never, ever do or die. Anyone will enough power, money or will can get out of a contract. Which is not to say it's right, but it is to say it "is." And some clubs will honor intent of contracts - and many won't. Some will pay an injured player his due, some will force him to renegotiate. Some will adhere to a players wish not to be sold to a crap team, others will tell him go or they'll make his life miserable.
PSV's (and the Dutch) style of play is much better for Beasley - He's very dangerous on the outside in fluid situations - EPL teams tend to be very rigid, and his style doesn't seem to suited for them - The money's pretty even - He should go for where he'll do better (from an admitted Beasley non-fan)
http://www.soccerway.com/news/full/?page=details&area=1089998131 The date is new. But I'm not sure how new is the news.
Here is the source of that from the PSV site. It is in Dutch, but the translation says the same thing. http://www.psv.nl/show?id=14640&contentid=6807
So does this mean that DMB will replace Kezman's picture on top of PSV's site? (Why is Kezman still on there, anyways?)
