&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Kezar will never have the MLS Shootout Package... because it's now called MLS Direct Kick. ;)

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

Look buddy, don't take your isolated experience and try to blow it up into some kind of generalization about the whole place. 'Cause that's my strategy - get yer own.

    Update

As of tonight, sounds like they'll be keeping the name Mad Dog, keeping the barstaff, and they're even considering painting it green again.

As long as there's somewhere to go and watch EPL matches at 8am and get a bit of pub grub, it won't be "not good news for Bay Area football pub fans"

    !!!

    That would be rad.

I've heard conflicting reports from different employees there, so who knows??

Re: Re: Rose and Crown, Palo Alto?

Just have to comment on a tangent here...The Old Pro broke my heart years ago when they cleaned up the quanset hut, swept the peanuts off the floor, and started selling microbrews. Now they have moved downton in PA??!!! I think they should legally be forced to change the name. The Old Pro was a cheap beer heaven with walls coated in posters of busty beer babes and an awesome shufflepuck table. There were still plenty of TVs for sports too. Now, it is dead to me...

Received another Mad Dog broadcast email with all the usual features -- schedule and everything.

    Also contained this note:

"As some of you might already know, the Mad Dog is changing hands next month, but don't fret! We'll still be featuring the same great footie and friendly atmosphere. See you on matchday!"

    Good news indeed.

I rcvd that to, but I noticed it had the same games listed as the previous email. My worry is that they'll stop paying for the Setanta matches and FSW PPV matches.

We'll see...I'm a bit more optimistic than I was this last week.

Just called the Mad Dog Hotline:
This week's CL matches will be shown at Kezar; the Mad Dog will be closed during the day for some time.

    Kezar will be showing:
AC Milan / Deportivo on Tuesday
Chelsea / Arsenal AND Madrid / Monaco on Wednesday.

Sounded like they were playing both Wednesday matches simultaneously.
The Chelsea match is on espn2, by the way.

Good news: The matches are being shown.
Bad news: No Rosamunde sausage sandwich at halftime.

    .....mmmm... merguez.......
