I'm really pessimistic right now. Even more than usual.

I've just got not clue what the club are doing, and all I can see happening is us getting to August and having to beg Steffen Freund and Sheringham to sign on again for another year. It's an awful situation and I think unless something dramatic happens this summer then someone's head has to roll.

If ENIC don't have the money, then they need to be pushed out. If Hoddle can't spot the blindingly obvious, that he desperately needs new players, then he should be given the bullet.

Spurs are a club with a good flow of income and valuable assets, there's no divine right to success at all, and a lot of money was wasted over the years, plus the transfer market is uncertain. But lack of ambition should not be tolerated.

Hmmm, I think I was a bit negative in this thread. Things aren't a disaster, it's just frustrating to see a lot of potential, and what seems to be no intent or capacity to fulfill it. We don't seem to be pursuing realistic targets, and the coaching staff seems like it's struggling to build a team spirit.

Robbie Keane, Simon Davies, Stephen Carr, Ledley King... These are some of the brightest talents around. Add to that experienced Pros like Richards, Anderton and Ziege, and with a few top class players, in particular a midfield battler and a couple of goal scoring strikers, and we could really be going places.

doesen't look like Carr will be around for long - linked with newcastle. it's just natural spurs supporter procedure to be a pessimist, but the club was in contention for europe almost until the end with major injury problems, we're a striker and a solid defensive midfielder away from respectability.

Losing Carr now is not a big problem, he's not the player he was a couple of years ago. If we can get 5 or 6 million to spend on other areas of the team, that would be good. I would have loved to have seen us get Ameobi from Newcastle in exchange, that seems like a non-starter, but he's a big talent.

To replace Carr we have Stephen Kelly, possibly also Dean Marney (although he seems to be more of a midfielder, even though he's very flexible in where he can play). Tarrico is the experienced cover.

Davies and Carr do link up very well though, and if we can actually get Ziege and Carr fit at the same time, we're a strong side.

The highlights of this season were the link up of Carr and Davies.

We need a striker...or two. Other than that, we really need to say injury free - or in Tarrico's case, suspension free. We have a solid side if we can get our first squad together for a long run.

After signing Postiga, if we can just get a solid defensive midfielder (Scott Parker or Sean Davis?) we should be good for 5th or 6th. Especially if Ziege and Carr stay healthy for a season.
