I spoke to the bartender at Nathan Hale's last week. They will know by Tuesday, 5/13 whether they will be showing the FA Cup or not. If they do, I understand that they will be serving breakfast. I'm getting together with some old friends for the FA Cup and we will convene there if they have it. Would be great to see some ESC people there! Whaddaya say??!!!!

Since when does Nathan Hales have Setanta (is it Setanta that covers it?)

I know Nevada Smiths has a ton of expensive equipment in their backroom...

The bartender said something about Time-Warner geting back to him. I am assuming they have Time-Warner Cable and are getting it on PPV.

Mulligan's in Hoboken will be showing it and doing an Irish breakfast as well.... always a great place to watch some football.

I heard the cover charge for the FA Cup final was steep.... like $20 and up.... is this true?

Not confirmed yet, but looking good

I just talked to the guy at Nathan Hale's - I think it was the same guy that I spoke to the other day. They put in for the FA Cup are waiting for a fax confirmation which they expect to get sometime tomorrow. They say that they plan to have a full breakfast (assuming this comes through). They also said that they will have the Metros-Rapids game at 4 PM. So things, as far as their showing the FA Cup is concerned, are looking good. :)

    Still up in the air

Am being told now that Nathan Hale's has to talk to Setanta to see how much they will charge and will know tomorrow afternoon. So FA Cup @ Nathan Hale's is by NO means a done deal.

    The plot thickens...

Spoke with Carl today, and there is NO F.A. Cup @ Nathan Hales tommorrow.

So why dontcha just sleep in and save those pennies until 4pm that afternoon when Metro plays the Rapids and spend 'em on 3 dolla pints of Carlsberg and Tetley's.

I just got off the phone with Richie at NH's, and he's confirmed that, besides the Metro game, the cheap beer and good pub grub, they'll be raffling off four (4) tickets to the upcoming Manchester United game at the Stadium.

If it works the same as last time, you get a ticket for every $2 pint of Budweiser that you buy.
Could work out to be the most profitable cheap beer you ever drank.

    Central Park South,
Not showing the FA cup comes as no surprise. You cannot order an event on cable for $25 dollars and show it for free when Setanta is charging commercial establishments a much higher rights fee. Once the fee is paid, bars must charge $25 per person for entry-which they get to keep. And being that Nathan Hales is very cheap, there was no chance they would pay that fee.
