We were all thrilled when Charlton and to a lesser extent McCarthy were appointed manager with their less than stellar managerial record. So why not with these guys?(and include Bryan Robson in that lot too)

Anyone who spends £3.5m on Ashley Ward, gets a team with the likes of Gillespie, Jansen, Alan Kelly, Henchoz, Sutton and Duff relegated, and then proceeds to reach the dizzy heights of 16th or so place in the 1st division is a pretty crap manager in my book. The only choice that's worse is possibly Bryan Robson, who blew many, many £m on players like Juninho, Ravenelli etc. and got relegated. Twice (I think).

Out of the three Troussier would be the best in my opinion, even though he's a surly so-and-so.

Kerr is a better option then them all, the only worse candadate then Kidd/Robson is Frank Stapleton. God help us all if that plant gets the job.

The least of three evils, to be sure, but I still think Ireland could do better.
