Naby and Ox need to sort themselves out. Too many give aways and turnovers esp Ox is causing problems for the def and by the same token the front three are not getting the service they need.
Good result from the kids…they did all right, overall… A bit scrappy at times, but they’re teenagers…the other guys did fine as well…good to give Robbo a few minutes…Tsimikas did well, so did Minamino, and Origi… Konate and Gomez looked decent at the back and well in Kelleher for the PK save and a couple other strongly hit balls that he hoovered up… A O-C is really the only one I was concerned with, as he gave the ball away a few times…and I think he’s better than that 0-3 I’ll take it as many times as LFC can serve it up
I thought the addition of Morton coming on made a big difference in the second half. Slotting in as the holding mid he was really steady there. He kept the ball moving , distribution was good, everything seemed to flow better. I noticed Gordon dropping off the wing into midfield too and he looked quite effective with some lovely through balls . The future looks good with some of these young guys.
Kudo's to Taki too. The guy looked sharp around the goal in this one . Two nice finishes . There's hope for him yet
thing about him is that he doesn’t seem to be able to do it at the PL level. Even after the burst on loan at Soton - he fell drastically off. hopefully the goals give him the confidence he needs.
Clean sheet, three goals and through to the next round. I’m beginning to enjoy the sound of this. Now just watch our getting Chelsea away with Man City getting Sunderland at home.
He’s actually got excellent movement off the ball— unfortunately most of his team-mates don’t seem to see this. He’s potential game-changer if we need a different dimension to our play. Klopp has to trust him, though.
Yep, this is true. We know the skills are there, we saw his touches around the goal but this was not even Norwich's strongest eleven . Can he replicate vs tougher opposition ? We'll see.
Jurgen Klopp: "If the boys are good enough then they will play. Kaide Gordon is ready for these moments - he can play for 95 minutes. Tyler gave us the opportunity to connect again - a really good game and they play because they are good enough."
Generally a solid performance all round. Except OxC who was very sloppy with his passing. And it's not the first time this season either ........
In the last 8 seasons he has appeared sporadically for his clubs: 16 7 27 27 19 30 24 24 And for those of you who can't do maths, that's 63% of of the available matches over the last 8 league seasons. Not exactly setting the world alight.
I was wondering why we were singing the Suarez song! Liverpool fans notice what Luis Suarez did as Jurgen Klopp's side beat Norwich City - Liverpool Echo
Naby Keita was replaced at half-time in Liverpool's 3-0 League Cup win over Norwich City as a precaution. Why Naby Keita was substituted at half-time during Liverpool win vs Norwich - Liverpool Echo
For an 11 who'd never played together, I think they were very organized for most of the game. The kids did very well, esp Morton imo. Bradley didn't look out of place but I thought Gordon looked like a 16 year old and didn't contribute much. I hope the staff aren't over-hyping him and will give him time to settle and grow. Ox imo was dreadful. Apart from the assist on Mini's goal I think he gave the ball away just about every time, and not because he was trying anything difficult. He looked out of his depth. No way he gets near a starting PL game at this point unless we have a big wave of injuries. Great to see Taki get the double, both well taken. Although it was badically the reserve 11 of the worst team in the PL. All in all, a good night's work and things went exactly as hoped. I hope Naby is ok, that would really take the shine off things.
Thiago's out. Keita was pulled as a 'precaution,' so he could very well be out. Harvey's out. So Milner, Curtis, or Ox will be starting this weekend.
