eh, while i find it's still borderline, i don't have a problem with jorginho's little skippitty skip. it is at least a continuous motion. the start-stop-start like lacazette's irritates me. it should be one single continuous motion and, if you do that stop-start bullshit, your penalty is canceled out.
Ode is looking like the player we wanted now Auba is out the team laca drops and the wide pkayers run though. It’s looking very good I wonder if it’s worth investing in a false 9 instead of an out and out striker? Might be worth giving laca a 2 year deal, shipping Auba and bringing in a youngster to rotate till he’s ready people rave about David? Not gonna pretend I’ve seen him play or looked at his cheesewheel on teds knuts but he fits the profile

I watched the game, Partey was not really standing out, which is what you want from your midfielder in this system of Homeless Man's Pep. I like that Saka is getting in among the goals. This team is taking shape. My strong opinions, lightly held, and based on new evidence tell me that he's starting to get a grip on what he wants to do, how and with whom. I still scratch my grey hairs at what the hell they were thinking keeping Auba on a huge deal. Could've been sitting pretty with a warchest had they offloaded him smh. Now we gotta figure out an AubaZette replacement.
Interesting. I thought he was quite good. He completed more passes than anyone other than Gabriel Magalhaes, and at a better completion rate than anyone at 91 percent. Credited with 2/3 take-ons; 8 ball recoveries; 1 chance created. And I'm still not completely sure that Arteta wants our two CMs to play like Pep has Rodri or Fernandinho play. At times, it seems Arteta wants them replicating the Henderson/Keita role of keeping the machine oiled and running.
What I meant by "not outstanding" is not that he wasn't good but he was not obvious as in previous games where he'd lose the ball. Usually he stands out cause he's losing the ball in dangerous positions, not so this game.
Partey is a weird player, he can look great for 30 mins then make 2 or 3 shit passes in a row he’s a good player though, but even though Xhaka is worse, he is a much better passer
In the Homeless Man's Pep style of play the #6 is like a referee, if you notice him too much he's having a bad game. He should just be the one keeping things moving not drawing any attention to himself cause his job is to facilitate.
He’s a better, or at least more prolific, one touch passer than Xhaka, so he moves the ball more quickly.
at least from what i have seen, partey needs less touches to get going/do something, whether it is to make a run or pass. i also feel like partey handles receiving the ball under pressure better.
fair. i don't understand his failings either. my concern with xhaka is whether his return had anything to do with tierney's and odegaard's uptick in form and whether he will also be the key to unlock partey. it's always felt like he and tierney connect well.
Be wary of signing players from Atletico. Strange things happen. Playing passes into the left wing into space is Xhaka's jam
Yeah saul sucks that pass is easy for a lefty partyey is better on the ball, on the turn, defensively etc but Xhaka makes better forward passes when he has time
Wenger had a deal lined up for him when he was 20, IIRC, only for Atletico to pull out when someone got hurt.
